A local publication that centers on local nightlife and entertainment has an article in month’s issue that illustrates obscure laws in different states. And I quote:
“It is unlawful to lend you vacuum cleaner to your next door neighbor in Denver, Colorado”.
Words written by a writer who works for www.flymagazine.net.
Is this true? If so, why?
I thought you guys were supposed to be live and let live retro-hippies out there.

In a roundabout, backwards sort of way peace did you a favor.

This may be true:
Denver: Up to date?
In all US states – and naturally this includes Denver/Colorado – there are some bizarre laws left over from the old days which now beg all legitimacy. For example, it is supposedly still forbidden today in Denver to lend your neighbour a vacuum cleaner. Another law prohibits rat abuse. And finally, the citizens of Denver are not permitted to drive black cars on Sundays.

Where's Rain Man when you need him? He's like a cop.

It's probably a Raiders thing, tho. :p

This is news to me. I drive my vacuum cleaner over to my neighbor in a black car pretty much every Sunday.
In other news, I found out tonight that if there are two disturbing the peace violations against a house, you can get the tenants evicted. That's pretty cool.

That was a cross joke between you and DenverChief.
I'm coming to Denver just to drive a black car on Sunday with a vacuum strapped to the roof until I get pulled over. When DenverChief asks where I'm going my response will be "to the neighbors".
If he's carrying a tazer I might think twice about it however.

You're not even tough enough to take getting tazed by a gay guy?

I've been punched in the face about 4x in my life and I'd take that over a tazer anyday.
Coming back in consciences handcuffed surrounded by about 50 strangers drooling on myself didn't help the whole psychological impact much either.
If I get cornered by a clown before this blows over the impact may be irreversible.
Happy place...

ROFL ...I dunno if it's true or not but I have seen it repeated by many sources...so my guess is yes...and the only reason I can think of is IF there were vaccum cleaners during the influenza epidemic that maybe they thought that was a way it could spread
