Dallas over SD is the only possibility I see, or at least Dallas beating the spread.

I think TB could catch Minn on an off week.

I was thinking about posting a thread like this, good thread idea. There's always a couple first week games that are big surprises. Sometimes it's a sign of a team that's about to have a big turnaround, other times it's just a big fluke (see Buffalo beating NE 31-0 a couple years ago).

My biggest upset pick of the week would be Baltimore over Indy. I really like Houston and Dallas if you wanted a 2nd and 3rd guess, but Baltimore over Indy is my pick.

Dallas is going to surprise a lot of people this year. I think they will push the Eagles all year in that division and go to the playoffs as a wild card.

I got a gut feeling. But it could be those jalapenos I had on my breakfast burrito.

New Orleans over Carolina would be nice. They gain inspiration playing for the victims of Hurricane Katrina!

I think they're a sitting duck nobody is even talking about. They haven't played well in preseason at all. They're dealing with a lot of injuries too. Stokley's supposed to play, but he's been hurt pretty much all preseason with a shoulder problem and they didn't decide that he'd play until yesterday. Freeney missed a practice two days ago because he's nursing a foot injury. Dallas Clark has a concussion and might not play, they don't have Marcus Pollard to take his place anymore. Their first round pick CB Marlin Jackson is very doubtful. They just traded for Rocky Calmus to play LB, then had to put him on IR because he ended up hurt. They announced earlier today one of their other reserve LB's is out for tomorrow's game as well. They aren't close to 100% and haven't been all preseason. Of course, that means they'll probably go out and win 42-10 and I'll look like an idiot, but I think they're vulnerable.

I have a hard time picking Baltimore in an upset so long as Boller is behind center and sucking like a thai whore when the navy's in for shore leave.

Yeah, that's really the biggest thing holding them back. I'm still gonna go with that pick though! Wooo! Boller for President! Or something.

I am picking Baltimore in an upset, I think they have the best defense in the NFL bar none.

I took Miami over Denver. This is legitimate to me and not me just being a homer. I think Nick Saban gets this team rolling and they start off their 4-12 season with a win. I really think Denver is going to come out flat to start their 6-10 season. Everyone knows that most of their offseason consisted of "WTF?'s". I'm just seeing a flat football team tommorrow. Plummer is the key to that offense taking a dive. Their linemen are getting farther and farther removed from the Alex Gibbs era and just aren't going to continue at the pace they have been over the last few years IMO. Champ had an off year, and that defense is aging except for their new collection of first round busts. Now I'll be a homer. GO DOLPHINS!!!!!

I just wanted to bump this thread because I'm extremely happy over my glorious, lucky pick of the upset of the week. I wouldn't really give a shit, but it's the donkeys

There were two bigger upsets: TB over Min and NO over Carolina. Still, good call.
