I found it interesting that we were down for about 1 1/2 hrs. and the media was slowly but surely heading towards panic mode. They were saying people were out in the streets and acting nervous and driving without traffic lights was very dangerous. F*cking media panic whores.

Heh, I was right.

LOS ANGELES - Utility workers connected the wrong wires and caused a blackout across major portions of Los Angeles on Monday afternoon, trapping people in elevators and snarling traffic at intersections, authorities said

The terrorists are posing as inept utility workers? How fiendishly clever.

I need to dry out from the DC. Its kind of like quitting smoking. I have cut down from 3 packs a day, to just a few smokes. Going all the way to zero would be appreciated. ;)

Is what normal? The power going out or the media being whores? We've had a few power outages (rarely though) usually doesn't last 1.5 hours though and is usually confined to smaller areas.

oops. just re-read your post. you said "isn't" I saw "is" that normal. Yes, unfortunately it is normal for the media.
it's so rare that someone actually responds to a post of mine that I get all excited and respond without reading it well. could be why people don't respond to me much...
