View Full Version : 2006 Draft, what do you think we should look for?

I know, its a bit early to be thinking about these things, but why the heck not?

The 2006 NFL draft is deep with OT's (McNeill from Auburn, Winston from Miami, Ferguson from UVA, Scott from Texas, etc...). I'd keep an eye on these guys.

Go with a DT again? Rodrique Wright from Texas, or a MONSTER DT Gabe Watson from Michigan.

Ah the possibilities...

I think its very important to go with Defense in round one, and then look at OT in round two.

I would love to see a DE or CB drafted in the first round. We need to continue to add young talent to the defensive side of the ball.

in no order:

QB
Tackle
CB
DT

Kansas State Wildcats in rounds 1-4.

Nothing else matters. :)

I don't see much worth taking at QB in the first. Leinart of course will go in the first. After that its a dropoff.

Perhaps Charlie Whitehurst (Clemson) or Paul Pinegar (Fresno State). Personally I like Omar Jacobs, but I don't know if he is a Senior or not.

Gotta have an OT, no question. Our O line is the most important thing to the success of our Offense. If Shields retires we will have Welbourne to plug into G. That is if he can stay off the roids.

Yeah - I think we are pretty deep at OG. Tackle i'm worried about. Plus this draft is could have 5 or 6 Tackles taken in the first round, easily.

Pretty much everyone you named, is expected to be off the board by pick 20. Unless you're expecting us to have a crap year, we won't be getting any of those guys.

But will there be on at the end of round one?

Derrick Johnson would like to have a word with you.

I think we should take another RB.

Clearly just wasting time here.

We may already have the OT.

I was really impressed with ASU's QB this weekend.

Just depends on what kind of year they have.

He was pick 15, yes he did drop but how far did he really drop? What kinda year are you expecting the Chiefs to have? If we're picking in the 28-32 area, I doubt any of these guys are there.

My initial thought is that the Chiefs should take the best available lineman (offense or defense).

Did you see the season Whitehurst had last year? Absolutely horrible. And he hasn't been too impressive so far this year either.

Anyway, I would guess we might be looking at the same spots we usually are around draft time DT, OT, DE, CB, WR.

What kind of sucks, is this coming draft is weak at CB and WR. Charles Gordon out at KU is probably going to be the 1st or 2nd corner off the board if that tells you anything.

Vince Young=WR in the NFL

I think we have to draft Roaf's successor this year just because the Oline depth will be so strong in this draft. There are five guys who can be legit Pro Bowl LTs, that's something you don't see very often. If we want to keep this offense running on all cylinders, we need to keep the Oline strong.

Just say no to Omar Jacobs, Vince Young, Charlie Whitehurst, ect.

The QB class sucks this year. Though a QB I'm high on that should be available later is Brodie Croyle.

Don't like Rod Wright all that much. I prefer Gabe Watson and he'd be much more likely to be available later in the 1st round.

We definitely need to draft a tackle.

DE or DT in the first to replace Hicks or Siavii. OT, CB in the second depnding on how Sitvek does this year.

Wow, Mecca really showed his ass in this thread.

I still think Young is going to be a shitass QB in the NFL, and I stick by the fact that he should be playing WR.

I also don't think a player went from being rated higher and dropping than Charles Gordon and Rod Wright did........

D-Tackle, CB, WR could be interchangable
