What do you think? Do you think this is a good idea?

I thought Victory Monday was pretty common.

Yeah that's pretty standard and besides that all they do on mondays is watch film. Monday off means they can watch film on their own time instead of with the team at a designated time. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

They could take off as many days they want it they keep winning on Sunday.

Just keep them out of the bars and away from Drama Queens and bouncers and they can do anything they want.

It is a League Rule instituted by Tagliabue to help with the parity issue.

I like it. These guys are human, and are motivated by the same things we all are. We'd like to think the money or loyalty to our team does it for them, but I'm afraid that's just wishing on our part.

I don't think the potential of a day off will make a guy play any differently, but it may produce one more set in the weight room or extra hour of film, who knows?

Plus, the significant others' views/pressure will come into play, as they'll have already made plans for the guys on Mondays. Maybe not a good idea for LJ. :)

They just come into the facility if they want to and workout and watch film. They are expected to be there but its not mandatory.

A trend started by Shanahan in the 90's...

A trend started by Shanahan in the 90's...

If it weren't for that he would never have won a SuperBowl.

Oh and that thing about having the best QB and RB in the league at the same time.

Oh and that thing about cheating on the salary cap.

Dude's a genious.

Truly Shanahan is a genius.

Have you ever watched an NFL game? I think they deserve the day off after the amount of pounding they take on game day.

BTW, what do we call Monday after we lose?

Violating the cap to win a Super Bowl?

Great idea. I think I'm going to start doing that too.

Don't forget his idea to use the leftover KY jelly from the team "meeting" the night before the playoff game at Arrowhead to rub on the their jerseys.

Hey, the way I drink on gamedays, I take every Monday off. Win or lose.

Good idea.

Do we need a DJ 'tail' to keep an eye on him.

I'm no NFL coach, but how I worked with other assistant coaches and players (I was an assistant coach in college.)

Saturday: Game Day
Sunday: Day off
Monday: Film, light practice (i.e. helmets and sometimes shoulder pads)
Tuesday to Thursday: Full practice.

So I would assume how it works in the NFL is:

Sunday: Game Day
Monday: Day off of practice, but show up for weightlifting and possibly film
Tuesday: Day off/Light practice, film
Wednesday to Friday, Full pads.

That's just my guess though on the NFL part.

What's that, getting the genius rub from two hall of fame quarterbacks that he had nothing to do with developing?

What I want to know is why they were doing third person Thursday at arrowhead today, and if they got it from all of the Bob Dole posts here...
