I award 10 points per position, being divided between the opposing players based on their skill and talent. Critique away.

RB - Holmes vs. Lamont Jordan - Jordan may be a decent runner, but he'd be a third-stringer on the Chiefs. 8/2
FB - Richardson vs. Zack Crockett - Crockett's a good fullback. Richardson's an all-pro with a dinged-up knee/ankle. 5/5
QB - Green vs. Kerry Collins - My god. Did you SEE Collins last week? 9/1
WR - Kennison vs. Randy Moss - Okay, Moss wins this battle, even if Kennison is doing well for us. 2/8
WR - Parker vs. Jerry Porter - Parker is doing well, but Porter is more proven. 2/8
TE - Gonzalez vs. Courtney Anderson. Anderson is enormous (270 lbs.) and had two short TDs last week, but he's no Gonzalez. 8/2.
LT - Black vs. Barry Sims - Sims is more proven, even though Black has more upside. 3/7
LG - Waters vs. Langston Walker - Waters wins, but Walker is a hay-eater at 6-8, 345. 7/3
C - Wiegman vs. Jake Grove - Grove was a high-draft rookie last year. He's no Wiegman, who is playing great. 6/4
RG - Shields vs. Brad Badger - Shields vs. a career journeyman. 9/1
RT - Sampson vs. Robert Gallery - Gallery gets points for a pedigree at the moment, though we'll see how he performs in the long run. He hasn't bowled anyone over yet. 3/7
K - Tynes vs. Sebastian Janikowski - The rapist wins this battle. 1/9
P - Colquitt vs. Shane Lechler - Colquitt is very, very impressive, but he's taking on the best in the league. Maybe he'll pass him at some point, but Lechler gets seniority right now. 3/7
KR - Hall vs. Alvis Whitted (KR)/Chris Carr (PR) - Whatever. Hall wins. 8/2
FS - Wesley vs. Stuart Schweigert - I have no idea. 5/5
SS - Knight vs. Derrick Gibson - I hear that Gibson is a big disappointment. 6/4
CB - Surtain vs. Charles Woodson - Frankly, I'd rather have Surtain. 6/4
CB - McCleon vs. Nnamdi Asomugha - Apparently Asomugha spent most of the week getting skin grafts. He's still a first-round choice, though. 4/6
OLB - Johnson vs. Tyler Brayton - What the heck are they doing? A 280-lb defensive end at linebacker???? 9/1
OLB - Bell vs. Grant Irons - What they heck are they doing? A 285-lb defensive end at the other linebacker???? 9/1
MLB - Mitchell vs. Danny Clark - Clark is a proven pro, albeit nondesript. Mitchell is starting to play like a mid-round draft pick, and maybe will play like a second-round pick at some point. 3/7
DE - Hicks vs. Bobby Hamilton - Both are proven vets. Hamilton is a little more proven. 4/6
DE - Wilkerson vs. Tommy Kelly - A couple of big young backups both getting starts. 5/5
DT - Browning vs. Ted Washington - Washington is a big fat tub of goo, but he's hard to move in the running game. Browning is an enigma. 3/7
DT - Dalton vs. Warren Sapp - Keep Sapp and give me Dalton. 6/4

Total talent ratio:

Offense: Chiefs 62, Raid ers 48
Special Teams: Chiefs 12, Raid ers 18
Defense: Chiefs 60, Raid ers 50

This could be a closer game than I first thought. The Chiefs are a superior team, though.

Chiefs 31, crapheads 24... why are we still discussing what has already been decided?

Excellent analysis.

Where we really kill them is the coaching matchup.

HC - Dick Vermeil vs Norv Turner - Dick has had success everywhere, and has been to two Super Bowls. Turner is a joke. 9/1.

OC - Al Saunders vs Jimmy Raye - Iiiiiiiisnt she loooooovely. 10/0

DC- Gunther Cunningham vs Rob Ryan - Gunther's skins are on the wall. Rob Ryan is still looking for a wall. 8/2.

Their D-Line is OLD!!! T.Washington-37, W.Sapp-32, B.Hamilton-34, Tommy Kelly-23. that averages out to 32 years old. I think you guys overrated The D tackles. Big Ted could play 4 years ago, but these guys are done.

Course I guess you could say the same thing about our O-line, if Roaf were in it would be: Jordan Black-25, W. Roaf-35, W. Shields-34, C. Wiegman-32, B. Waters-28. That averages out to about 31 years old.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this could be a match-up of the two oldest lines in the league.

The Raiders really are incompetent. They are playing 3-4 personnel (Hamilton, Washington, Brayton, Irons) in a 4-3 scheme.

Excellent point.

Yes, and it's why I think we will continue to own them.

The only time in the last 15 years when the Raiders had an edge on us was when they had a competent QB and coach (Gannon and Gruden).

It's no coincidence that during most of that period we had Gunther and Grbac as ours.

Janikowski missed a 43-yarder wide left opening night, and his kickoffs were sporadic. You're giving him way too much credit with that 9/1, even if it is Tynes. I think there's something wrong with the drug'em and hug 'em machine.

And I think you underscored Mitchell badly at MLB.

Hall averaged 19.5 on KR's with a long of 22.
Carr averaged 25.2 on KR's with a long of 29.
Hall rates an 8.
Carr rates a 2.

You have Tony G and Moss rated as 8's. Both should be higher methinks.

ID say Green Vs Collins is about 6-4. Collins is decent at times and throws a great deep ball. Plus he has lead teams to a Super Bowl and an NFC Championship game. Something Green hasnt come close to yet. Green also gets lowered in my book for bad decsion making in the Red Zone.
