View Full Version : The Worst NFL Announce Team Ever

Good God, I hope I never see those two in a booth again. They were The Worst NFL Announce Team Ever.

Here are a couple of things that they didn't explain to me, as they were too busy sucking Randy Moss' cock.

What was the penalty called on the Chiefs on the Lamont Jordan TD?

Who was the player who laid the monster block so Trent Green could complete that 3rd down pass? I think it was Richardson, but they didn't comment on it or replay it.

Fuggin' tards.

Exactly! I think The Fade is Tiricos' favorite team, and Sterling Sharpe has a serious man-crush on Moss.

You pretty much were. But remember, Tirico is "new at this" and had to rely on Sterling to tell him wha was going on.

You really think the regular Sunday night crew would've been better? With all the camera shots and stats put up with Moss in the picture, I think a lot of their talk came from upstairs. a directive to talk about Moss. When he talked about the game, I thought Sharpe was pretty good. He was dead on late in the game about Moss not getting the ball. That IS the reason they brought him there.

Although I agree, this is not an isolated incident. ESPN plays up the so-called NFL stars every week. It was even worse when the Panthers played the Michael Vicks last year. McGuire and Thiesman apparently had a "every three word" Vick quota.

It's disgusting.

They did OK for their first game together, but come on. It was a Raider stroke fest. Randy Moss was on the verge of curing cancer.

I think you're right. The camera was probably on the Raiders/Moss 80% of the time. Even after we won, it was on the Raider's bench. This game was almost enough for me to pay to hear Chiefs radio on my PC.

I'd even be pissed if I were a Raiders fan. They even talked about Moss when he wasn't the one making the f*cking play.

I was pissed enough that I had to keep hearing "I really like what the Raiders are doing right now." But when I heard a "we" thrown in there. (not verbatim, but something like "we really need to step up and stop the Chiefs right here") that was it. Turned on 101, even though I was hearing about the play a second or two before I saw it....

How about when the Chiefs had the 9 minute drive in the 3rd quarter for the field goal. Ole Sterling busts out with, "look at the Raiders defense, they're playing for Randy Moss". Then talks about how that was a win for the defense.

It was seriously so stupid, that I actually started laughing.

Too make matters worse....my cable company (Adelphia) kept coming back from extended commercials late, and we ended up missing 8 or 9 plays from the game because they were too freakin busy showing local commercials and Adelphia promos to get back to the game....so we (in So Cal) missed LJ's touchdown and Moss's TD (not to mention several kickoffs and first downs. I was so pissed I called customer service, but the hold time was forever so I figured I wasnt the only one bitching.

On the Tirico/Sharpe issue.....horrible, but still better than listening to Maquire and Theisman babble all night long about how every player in the game is "the best I've ever seen" blah blah blah.

crossbow
09-19-2005, 08:05 AM
Yeah, they even credited Moss with how well the defense played. Come now, that is rediculous. The bottom line is this: Moss is a moraly corrupted shell of a man that happens to have exceptional physical talent. The NFL is selling him like cornflakes so that the fans will buy jersies and hats with his name on it. It is all about the money.

The announcers didn't even pretend to be unbiased during the game. The Chiefs got little props until it was close to the end of the game and it was obvious that KC was in control.

I fondly remember the late 90's when KC games were covered by Ian Eagle and Mark May and I thought that it couldnt possibly be any worse as they regularly mispronounced names and out and out butchered the entire play by play, but last night was horrid.

Did I actually hear that the reason why Oakland's defense was so good was because Randy Moss was on the sideline? WTF?

When KC made key offensive plays, it was not because of the execution of one of the best offenses in the NFL the last few years, it was because of the 'mistakes' of the Oakland defense...Really? Are you kidding me?

It was so bad, it was the first time I turned off the TV sound and went to the radio announcers.

Yeah, I loved how when the Chiefs did something well, it was a mistake by the Raiders and when the Raiders did something well, they were just dominating the Chiefs. For crap sake the Chiefs had a 9+ minute drive which ended in a field goal, and Sharpe called it a victory for the Raiders defense. Granted, a TD would have been better, but when you let another team grind that much time off the clock and put points on the board, it's hardly a victory.

Sterling Sharpe obviously wants to be the mother of Moss' children...

You know, they weren't bad in the first half. I didn't mind them at all.

Then, after halftime, Sharpe's Viagra kicked in and he was battling a 4 hour Mossrection. If he had rooted for the Faiders any harder late in the game, Al Davis was going to have to put him in a cheerleader outfit.

Don't forget....Sharpe's going to hate on the Chiefs as much as possible due to Shanan Sharpe.

It was painfully obvious.

Shanan (er, I mean horse face) even took a jab at the Chiefs on the pregame show mentioning that he would be on the sidelines next Monday night.

I have to admit I was impressed when Sterling Sharpe said Randy Moss was on the cusp of perfecting Cold Fusion.

Actually, I've heard that Mr. Moss is responsible for a number of innovations that have bettered civilization. Here's a few...

1. I've heard that he actually did the lion's share of coding on the latest version of Windows. All security holes in IE have been permanently closed by this special, special man. If you notice no more popups in your browsing experience, you now know who to thank.

2. He personally used his own body to block a hole in a crucial levee(one close to a children's hospital) in New Orleans. CNN won't mention this, due to his humble request not to draw attention to himself.

3. His computations are responsible for the shrinking of the ozone hole over Antarctica. Because of this, there is a 15-foot likeness of him sculpted out of ice by grateful natives of the continent. The ice sculpture's right arm is extended high above it, as if to convey the phrase "I'm open".

4. Has eradicated the stigma of 'homosexuality'. As every single woman AND man on planet Earth has no choice but to find Randy Moss the most sexually desirable human being on the planet(not to mention the most perfect), the notion of 'gay' can no longer apply. This according to his spokesperson Sterling Sharpe.

5. Discussions are currently under way for all countries to secede their power to a One World Government run by Emperor Moss. No vote by the people will be necessary, as everyone knows there could be not one dissenter. It is widely assumed that shortly after this event, all famine and crime would end; world peace and harmony would envelope the world.

There are many more instances that should take him directly to sainthood, but in deference to the wonderful Mr. Moss I won't continue to sing his almighty praises.

In one Oakland series, Sharpe spent the first 2 downs of the drive talking about how Collins had to get the ball to Moss and how important it was, then (after the long TD pass) since Moss was 'in the game' after that catch.

On a 3rd down in that drive, after about 5 minutes of non stop 'get it to Moss' talk from Sharpe, Collins hits Porter for a 20+ yard reception. Sharpe's comments after the catch:

"See, That's what Im talking about!"

I cant remember exactly how he said it. He was saying on Oakland's last drive it was time for Moss to line up and 'go be special'...

He was talking about great players being special when their teams need them to be. Then when Moss was not heard of for the last couple series, dipshit changed his tune a little bit and starting saying that the situation dictates if he can be special.

I never thought I would say this, but Sterling Sharpe is the worst announcer I've ever heard, even worse than Dick Vitale. That's like climbing the Mt. Everest of Suck.

Nothing Sterling or Sharpe about this analysis of game

JEFFREY FLANAGAN
Kansas City Star

Just so you know, I really like what I’m seeing.

No, seriously, I really, really like what I’m seeing.

Whoa! Can you believe how bad Sterling Sharpe was on ESPN’s Sunday night telecast?

Normally, we take fan complaints about biased announcers with a cautious approach. After all, how can a biased fan be objective about anything?

But Sharpe clearly was tilted toward the Raider perspective.

Sharpe, making his game analyst debut for the cable network, had a decent start, relating what he knows best — the mechanics of playing wide receiver in the NFL and the importance of making catches over the middle. He should have stuck with what he knows.

But somewhere along the line, Sharpe’s analytical work turned into an obsession with Randy Moss and the Oakland defense. Sharpe must have told listeners two dozen times that he “really liked what he was seeing from the Raiders’ defense.” Wonder how much he’d have liked that defense if Willie Roaf had been blasting open massive holes on the left side all night?

The Moss thing we get. Moss is the attraction for the national audience, and that’s what a national broadcast has to be concerned about.

But the Moss obsession came at the expense of another developing story — the Chiefs are 2-0, alone atop the AFC West. No matter how much Sharpe likes the Raiders’ defense, the truth is the Raiders are just another amusing sideshow with quarterback issues and coaching issues. End of story.

My favorite Sharpe utterance, though, came when Raiders fans became impatient with the offense and began booing. Sharpe said he understood the booing because he agreed that the Raiders’ receivers “weren’t working hard enough to get open.”

Huh?

You really think that’s why the Raiders fans were booing? Might it have had something to do with offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye’s inept play-calling? Or the feeble Kerry Collins?

Of course, if that one had you scratching your head, you probably fell off the couch trying to figure out what point Sharpe was making when he said, “It’s like my mom used to say about the cat tail caught in the washing machine: It won’t be long.”

Actually, it won’t be long before we forget that debut.
