I am organizing a large healthcare conference for physicians, and need a catchy, irreverent, quirky, yet "clean" song ot two to loop during a slideshow. The slideshow will have medical and health quotations (some funny, some serious, some poignant) fading in and out along with pictures of healthy and unhealthy people.

PLEASE help me out. I have done a genre and mood search at allmusic.com, but a lot of the irreverent songs, I have no idea what they sound like, and I don't want to pay for a download for 100 songs just to get to 1 or 2 that would work.

Any ideas you quirky, irreverent folks of the Planet? Another organizer wants to use a country song...god, please help me here.

Wow...very intuitive. Someone out there knows that "unhealthy" means obese.

I Don't Need No Doctor - prefer Humble Pie version might be to much rock. Depends on audience age.

Others seem like a good fit.

Why don't you do like everyone else and slap Green Day's "Time of Your Life" over it.

It's a healthcare lecture, not an episode from the OC.

Ah come on. They played it when I graduated from college. Complete with the audible "f*ck" in the intro.

You'll still have that going through your head at the next tailgate....

"Dead and Bloated" - Stone Temple Pilots
"Bled for Days" or "Wisconsin Death Trip" - Static-X
"F-Hole" - Soil
"Broken Knees" - Skrape
"Suicide Note Pt 1" and"Suicide Note Pt 2" - Pantera
"The Sick" - Nothingface

That should get you started. Hey, if the Navy can use Disturbed in a commercial these can be considered 'medical-related'.

Damn, I forgot some really good ones:

"Dead Bodies Everywhere" - Korn
"Drink to the Dead" - Clutch
"Dead and Broken" - Godsmack

And throw in a little "Dead or Alive" by Van Halen. Guaranteed to bring the mood up. Maybe.

You're welcome.

In all seriousness, any POS by Steely Dan is good.

"I Love Being Here with You" - Diana Krall (upbeat jazz song)
"I'm Pulling Through" - Diana Krall (slower)

Most of the feel-good, happy-crappy songs are from the older jazz and big band days.

If you want some instrumental stuff check out "The Rippingtons". Tons of songs to choose from, just about any speed you want.

Seeing that we're tailgating together again for the Philly game I think it may be time to break out the Black Sabbath.

I don't know if this one fits your theme, but it's definitely catchy, quirky, and clean.

Rep to everyone who helped out. Well, I'm not actually going to rep each of you, cause I'm lazy. But if I weren't lazy, each of you would have received rep for this thread.

Thanks...and rep.

I have two questions:

1. What music did you end up picking?

2. Was I left out of the rep because you're lazy, because I wasn't helpful, or both?

:)
