The only shortcoming on D seems to be that Collins comp % and YPC are higher, we're identical or better in every other D category.

QB ratings shouldn't consider TD passes. Collins' performance against New England was putrefying, and it counts as an 80+ game?

IMO, New England really isn't the measuring stick for how good a team should be.

I'm just posting raw numbers, not making any kind of statement. I'm interested in how we and other teams fare statistically against common opponents. I'll get to the Jets/KC and Miami/Jets games later, as I said.

And New England is really the only applicable measuring stick at this point, being the only other team the Raiders have played. Adding Philadelphia to the mix next week should be interesting.

Haven't you heard, keg? Our defense still sucks because we gave up two touchdowns that were called back on penalties.

NFL.com had Collins rated at 94+ in the New England game. After the 92+ he got against KC, his average is 93.8

Green is at 79.0

I'm not worried about the stats from the Raiders game. They had 10 days to prepare to play us on their field at their home opener at night. If they couldn't get it done under those circumstances then I don't think their season will get any better.

NFL.com had Collins rated at 94+ in the New England game.No they didn't. You can check the official gamebook (http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/gamebook/NFL_20050908_OAK@NE) if you don't want to take my word for it. And if you use a calculator (you can google "NFL QB rating calculator" and find several) and imput his stats, you'll find that 81.8 is the correct number.

As I recall, both yards/attempt and completion percentage carry equal weight along with TD% (TD/attempt) and INT% when they calulate a QB rating, which is why his was 81.8 for the NE game, despite his 3 TD/1 INT ratio; throwing 40 attempts and only completing 18 killed his rating.

Here's the other official stats from the same site NFL.com, where they also have him listed as having zero INT's. I think the NFL changed what was ruled an INT by the refs into a fumble for the official record book. Go figure:

Kerry Collins... OAK Games:... 2 Attempts:... 74 Att/G:... 37.0

Comp:...39 Pct:...52.7 Yards:...528 Yds/G...264 Long:...73

TD's:...4 INTs:...0 Sacks:...3 Sack Yards:...26 Rating...93.8

It didn't make any difference in the outcome, but did anyone else think Sapp intercepted that 4th down pass near the end of the game?

How do you feel about the game against Denver on MNF Kyle? Or is it too early for you?

It was kind of hard to tell since he rolled over his own player before coming down and really only seemed to maybe get a butt cheek in bounds. Though another replay would have been nice.

And Green is 2-0. And will have a higher QB rating at the end of the season, when it counts.
