Are the Refs Trying to Get Some Airtime This Year?

WTF? I don't remember seeing so much of the refs in previous years. They're showing up in lots of critical times, too. Then they're calling s**t that's ticky-tack at best, non-existent half the time. This last "helmet to helmet" call on the Chargers was BS.

I'm sure the League is putting allot of pressure on the officials to call any helmet to helmet contact no matter what. That usually means that some of the actual BS helmet to helmet calls are going to get a flag anyway.

I guess if you are the one getting smacked in the head by somone elses helmet you fully support this call. :hmmm:

I agree that there needs to be some distinction for blantant and accidental but where do you draw the line?

maybe if they didn't wear helmets they wouldn't have this problem.

I'd say that when their helmets don't actualy touch (like this play) you can draw the line.
