I know , I know he's OLD! But the mans a TREE TRUNK. We NEED a TREE TRUNK! He's healthy and as of September he was looking for a team to make a comeback. Wouldnt it be nice to have 1 guy that isnt getting shoved around on the line? We need the depth , and I cant think of anyone else who would be available. Why not at least give it a shot till Sims makes his return working toward his next injury.

As long as he isn't looking to get rich I think it's a hell of a move. All you want him to do is stand up and take two blockers.

He wouldn't help our pass rush at all, and we've done a pretty good job of stopping the run save the Denver game. I'd rather have somebody with better pass rush skills.

Hicks got his knee bent awkwardly if I remember right. I don't know what his status is... I can't even remember if he came back in the game or what happened. By that point in the game my brain was mush. I thought he was playing decently though... he's probably making more things happen than most of our other linemen.

Gilbert Brown? Nah. He old. He can't even play 3 downs, im wondering if he can at least play 2 downs? Nah dont want him I'll pass. I agree with tk13, we need a DT with some passing rushing skills. We dont have that. Our DT's are okay at stopping the run. However, they are not good at rushing the passer.

I believe KU finished in the top 10. I thought that was the year that 3 Big 8 teams finished in the top 6, actually. At least this is what I remember. Somebody else can look it up to verify.
Nebraska #1
KSU #5
KU #6

Hey, Saul, did you see where Tom Kivisto laid several million dollars on the KU football program? He was on the '88 NC basketball team. Maybe KU's football fortunes will take an upturn.

Yeah, I saw that. 10 million to KU, 2 million earmarked for the football program. They need dedicated facilities to the football team, including offices for the coaches. Right now the coaches offices are in AFH..that's sad. KU and ISU probably have the worst facilities in the Big XII, this donation will definatley help out.

However, I still think this is Mangino's last year. Lew wants to hire his own guy.

BTW, Kivisto wasn't on the 88 championship team. He played in the 70's. Ted Owens era IIRC.

Thanks, Tom must be little brother. Did you know John Riggins had two brothers who also played football for KU? Junior Riggins was a year or two older than John and was a decent RB. The little brother broke all of John and Junior's HS records then promptly fell flat on his face at KU.

Yeah. One of my co-workers grew up around Centralia, and knew the family. He said John Riggins dad forced him to work out all the time. He'd tie him to a pick up truck and make him pull it through the corn fields, and shit like that.

He also said John was a WILDman. Had more women and booze than he knew what to do with throughout high school.

John and Junior were a KU at the same time. They were both uncontrollable. Once they tore up the student union and Pepper Rodgers said he wouldn't let John play that week. The AD said "But coach, we play Mizzou this week". Rodgers said "By God, I won't let him play next week"

CHIEFS RELEASE C JOHNATHAN INGRAM
Oct 04, 2005, 2:55:54 PM

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Tuesday that the club had released C Johnathan Ingram. The club has also released RB Sam Gado from the practice squad.

Ingram (6-2, 300) saw duty in two games for the Chiefs in 2005. He spent the final six weeks of the 2004 season on the club’s active roster, but was inactive for all six games. Ingram also participated on Kansas City’s practice squad for the first 10 games last season after starting all 10 games for the Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europe in 2004.

The San Diego State alum saw action in 36 games (32 starts) for the Aztecs and earned honorable mention All-Mountain West honors as a junior. The Indio, California native prepped at La Quinta High School in La Quinta, California.

Gado (5-11, 210) played in 39 games at Liberty, rushing 273 times for 1,631 yards (6.0 yards) with 16 touchdowns and adding 38 receptions for 486 yards (12.8 avg.) with six TDs. He carried the ball 138 times for a career-high 901 yards (6.5 avg.) with 11 TDs and was named first-team All-Big South. The two-time all-state selection was a prep standout at Ben Lippen High School in Columbia, South Carolina, rushing 207 times for 2,007 yards with 26 scores as a senior.

If Eddie would have stayed healthy he'd probably still be a Chiefs. If he's healthy now I wouldn't be all oppossed to him being a Chief. He did have 4 sacks as a rookie when Sims was out for the year.
