Many of you have already started this (and some even finished already.) I never actually posted it, though. So, here it is.

Those of you that have finished it I could use some help with seeding please.

Is there a 4.9 gig DVD-R available somewhere or is 4.7 gigs the limit?

Double layer DVDs hold like 8 gigs. Youll need a dual layer burner though.

Other than that, you could re-encode it. It's kind of involved though.

Yeah, for some reason this one came out just a little larger than expected and I didn't even realize until after already a few people had completed it.

To archive it you could split it in half and put it on 2 discs. That's easier than re-encoding.

How many times do I have to beg and cry for a little of help distributing these vids? 26 completed and ZERO HELPERS currently!!!!???

Would you guys rather I just stop doing them so you don't have to worry about it anymore?

Damn DRU, you need to convert these mofos to VCD! You're pushing 5GB with this torrent. ;)

What the hell are you supposed to do to see the video?

Well, first your need a bit torrent client to download the file. Next you'll need a viewer... VLC is probably your best bet.

If the file is encoded MPEG2, you can burn it direct to a DVD and watch it on your home theatre system. If not, you will need an application to convert it. Judging from the size of the file, I assume it is already in MPEG2 format.

So you're saying I'm never gonna see this video.

Nope, it's Divx. I normally encode to 4.34GB but I screwed up the bitrate on this one and it ended up too big.

This particular game isn't a good sample of the quality I achieve, but take a look at anything I've posted from last year or this year and you'll see that it blows VCD and MPEG-2 (yes, DVD) out of the water at that file size.

Restarting right quick due to security updates. Those couple of you that jumped on to help (thank you!) please don't close your seed. I'll be right back.

Ahh, DRU said it is DIVX... just d/l the DIVX player & you're good to go. :)

I would d/l it, but it's too damn big. I someone wants to convert it to VCD I'll seed it for a week (promise) :)

DRU

If people would seed for a week you'd have it downloaded it less than 48 hours.

Did you tell your buddy at denverbroncos.com forum the same thing? His clips are shit quality btw.

If you'd like a sample of quality of my clips you can download this one clip off my webserver. it's only 8MB and it'll go fast. Best if you have a widescreen display.

Who wants to watch a game in shitty VCD quality?

The wait is worth it for DVD quality.

I seed them until I see 0 peers for about 2 days or so. I can't say the same for others.

7 people downloading currently and only 2 helpers. Could use some more seeders from those 37 of you that have completed this game.

So what would be the best way to get this burned to a DVD? Without messing up the Audio out of synch or Loosing Good Quality?

I'm glad I already have this game recorded from '94. This would take a year to download using dial up.

To be watchable in DVD players or just to get archived? If you just need to archive it I made it kind of a pain. It's slightly too big for a single layer DVD+R beacuse I messed up encoding one of the peices. You'd have to split it up and put it on 2 discs. If you're wanting to encode to DVD to watch in standard DVD players I'd just use nero. You will see some quality loss, however, the original for this game isn't spectacular anyway so it may be less noticeable. I've had pleasant results with Nero burning DVD movies.

Of course, the easiest/quickest thing is to connect your TV to your computer and simply play it with media player. ;)

Can nero burn straight from Divix form to a playable DVD?

DRU
10-19-2005, 04:25 PM
Should work fine. Just drag the AVI over in a DVD Video profile and burn that shit.

DRU

It won't be quick, though.

Currently I have DIVX to DVD.. translating it into a Video.ts file and then if its too big i was going to use dvd shrink, then burn with nero
