Usually when I do laundry, it's the white socks that get ruined by the red ones.

Get some offense and the astros might be deadly. Their rotation makes them a playoff threat but I would be really damn suprised if the make it past the NLCS.

I agree. The Astros are like the Braves were throughout the 90s... loaded with solid, veteran pitching talent... coupled with a patchwork offense.

The Cards will likely make it to the World Series, just because they are going to outscore any pitcher they face this year (other than maybe Smoltz, who is light's out in the playoffs). But I don't have much hope that the Braves will make it past the Astros, so that is a moot point.

As for who wins the WS, I don't care who it is as long as it is not a member of the AL East, who year in and year out field the best teams money can buy.

Yeah, I hate the Devil Rays, too.

ROFL

Until baseball imposes some sort of salary cap, which the player's union will never approve, the same teams will continue to dominate due to the size of their market and the amount of money they can pour into big names. You see quite a few small-market teams become contenders for a year or two, because their farm system players are ready to contribute. Then they get raided by the Bosox and Yankmes, and have another four or five years of mediocrity again.

I guess the point I should have made is that I don't care who goes to the WS year in and year out as long as it is not Boston or NY.
