I am, however, surprised that you are unwilling to discuss your mother's life here. I suspect that her dealings with men besides your biological father (and perhaps your dealings with them as well) might be insightful as well as potentially beneficial for you.

I knew a lady who wouldn't let any of her kids watch Disney movies. I asked her why and she said because a family member is always killed in them. I still think she is really weird for doing this, but there are a lot of Disney movies where a family member is killed.
