View Full Version : Why are the Chiefs not throwing the ball downfield more?

I would have to agree with the announcers. The Chiefs should be throwing the deep ball or atleast throw more mid-range passes. The Skins have some backups starting in their secondary. Why isn't Saunders taking advantage of that? Where's Kennison, Parker, Boerigter and Wilson? :hmmm:

They're on the line of scrimmage to help with the blocking.

They have tried at least 3 long passes in the first half, mostly to Gonzo. Most of them were way off or ended up as illegal contact/PI.

Agreed....Some of Trents throws fluttered or were off.

Gonzo hasn't exactly been wide open. They seem to be doing a fair job of covering him with a LB.

I think it's because Roaf isn't playing. Hasn't that been the excuse so far?

Wake up to reality. We have no WR's that are capable of getting open. Only Kennison has produced this year. Double team Gonzo and Kenny and let the others be.

The offense was was bad again today. Where the hell has our run blocking gone? Priest is not getting the yards he use to get because temas are shutting us down easily.

Did the Skins play Man or Zone? Looked like they played zone to me, with tight coverage. (Gee, a whole 'nother topic beaten to death!)

We had Gonzales pass-blocking, inviting the blitz. So many hurries, so much QB scrambling. Trent Green showed some toughness. The O was playing like there was a real sense of urgency, in the 3rd qtr. We need to have a 4th qtr offense.

Moose made a good commentary about the rolling pocket to the throwing arm side of the QB. Notice that today with Burn-ell? That burned our D. If we can make use of the TAS rolling pocket, then we can go more places, IMHO. That was a good compliment by Moose, about the quickness of our O-Line. Would like to see us do more on Trent Green's right side, to buy time for the long one. Things dissolve too readily up the middle.

Nice screens, though. One, especially!!!
