Will the Chiefs-San Diego game be on the Tube there? I'll land in Phoenix 1:20 pm. Should I count on being able to watch the game in the hotel room? I figure it might be of regional interest there, hence my question.

dunno if it will be on locally. There are some bars fairly close to the Airport that'll have it. I live like 5 min from the airport and I have sunday ticket.

I think AZChiefFan is already regretting having replied on this thread.

I was actually joking about the "invitation," BTW.

The Tilted Kilt is about 10-15 minutes from the airport, and should be showing the game. While there, you can also imbibe in some of the best microbrew AZ has to offer.

We chose a new plasma over Sunday ticket or I'd invite you here. We'll be bar hopping.

Scottsdale huh? I think there's a good restaurant called "Persian Room" there. Am I right?

Indeed. It's a fun place. :)

I wouldn't go in my Chiefs gear, but thats only because they haven't made a mini dress yet.

I won't be in Chiefs gear. But I'll make sure I'll be in my mini dress. ;)

(Might be fun to see their customers' lose their apetite.)

It was a hint at an invitation. If you do need a place to watch it I can record the game then play from the beginning when we get back from the airport. Or KC DAN we can watch it at my place or at a local bar. I know a place in mesa called Sluggo's it's alright and they have a Chiefs area which makes it even better.

Thanks bud. But isn't the game the second of the afternoon? If that's the case I can probably watch it at the hotel. Though meeting and watching the game with a fellow Chiefs fan/planeteer is always the better option. BTW what's your local CBS station and do they have a website?

Yes. We found our marriage works better if we view the Chiefs games in seperate states and sleep with other people.

I'm not talking to you. You're going to San Diego.

Yah well last week it was some made up event in kansas city. Next weekend will probably be a made up event in Amsterdam.

I'm getting cranky.

Actually, this past weekend I was at a made up event in Glendale.

Nothing like waking up at 7:30am, hungover, in a Super 8 in Goodyear...

What the hell were you doing...west of Central?

Tech N9ne had a show in the middle of goddamned nowhere.... aka Glendale.

F*ck... I had like a five mile cab ride to the nearest hotel. And, don't even get me started on the bullshit titty bar with TWO GODDAMNED DANCERS.

F*ck Glendale. The west side blows.

Fully 50% of the times I've made it that far west, my trip itinerary included California or Mexico.

Never just a trip to Surprise to see the Royals?

Went there once. Also had four Thanksgivings at Steinberg's parents' place. That's about it, though.

I guess that's on the way to Vegas, too...so ****, my original statement was way off.

80% of the time I made it that far west, my trip itinerary included California, Mexico, or Las Vegas.

The best part of my trip out west was losing track of Glen somewhere around 124th Ave at roughly 10:30-11pm, and him reappearing at 1am at Holly's place (off 44th st). And, of course, he has no idea what happened in the time in between.

Weird. Normally I'd say he ran it, but that'd be marathon pace. Boston Marathon pace. I'm guessing hitchhiking was involved, which means there's a pretty good chance a blow job was involved.

And I can only imagine what happend once he got to Holly's....

Actually, that wasn't the best part. Just the funniest. The best part probably isn't fit for this board.

PM or IM me.

This thread reminded me of how long it's been since I've met any Phoenix planeteer. Do you guys (AZChiefFan, EnDelt, StraightNoChaser, etc.) still meet up for games at Sluggo's, or have low-cost plasmas and sunday ticket replaced that tradition?

After one of our Chiefs losses, my neighborhood echoed with a painful heartbreaking "F***" from a certain beloved person.

Birds flew from trees.
Shivers ran down women's backs.
Men grabbed their guns.

I haven't been to Sluggo's since the '03 season. I was living in Tucson last football season... any game I happened to be in Phoenix for I think I just watched at Giligin's.

This season I've caught a game at Giligin's, a few at Mer's, and this Sunday will be my second live.

Sluggo's is further away than Mer's house... and they never gave me free beer, food, and titty bar passes. You're gettin old dude.

I am moving to Scottsdale/Paradise Valley area on Jan 3rd of 06 and would like to meet some chiefs fans to watch the game with. I have Direct TV and the NFL Package and a nice 37" JVC TV, but no HD or Plasma. I look forward to meeting you guys and rooting the Chiefs on...

PM me and I will start getting in touch with you and maybe we could watch some of the playoffs together?

Thanks,
Bryan
