Could someone tell me what happened when..

My tvo changed channels while i was gone and I missed from 6 minutes and something till the last three minutes . When it cut off we were driving and just got a first down on the Chargers 10 yard line with 6 minutes and a few seconds left , why did we not score ? Go Chiefs !!
