I am curious, how do the Chiefs travel. This is probably old news to many of you, but do they have a Chiefs plane? Do they use commercial or chartered planes? I have never heard anything about this that I recall.

I am pretty sure they use chartered planes.

My guess is charters.

It's a lot of money to buy a team plane for 10 games per year.

Charters. I recall Vermeil saying something about Delta not being able to fly them to Miami the night before the game.

I know the bus gets a police escort to the Stadium. When I was staying in Oakland for a Chief game we ended up right behind the bus on the way in. They had motorcycle escorts and police cars blocking off the intersections so they could go right through the lights. We were so close to the bus that the officers just kept waving us through. Got us right to the stadium...then they put a halt to us :) It was fun getting a police escort to the stadium though!

Thanks, kind of what I thought. They are probably headed back to KC today and I was thinking about the post last week regarding the Redskins plane in KC.
Of course that is probably just a Dan Snyder personal jet "write-off."

Everything in his life is a write off.

I am sure Daniel Snyder has his own private Leer Jet, and it would not be like him to come in "unmarked". Too much ego for that...

I believe NBA teams own their own plane. They do a lot more flying and take a lot few people. Plus they are able to customize the cabin for the players. They fly in style.

Boomer discussed it in one of his early diaries if anyone can find it.

I don't doubt that the Skins have a team plane, and maybe a few other rich owners that do other business traveling as well.

I also wouldn't doubt that NBA or MLB teams would have planes due to the number of flights.

Makes sense, more road games times five. Plus a smaller plane will work.

Boomer discussed it in one of his early diaries if anyone can find it.

Now that you mention it, I do remember him saying something about it. Further proof my short term memory is toast, dang it.

I wonder if Delta is "The Official Airline of the Kansas City Chiefs"?
