Why does Chris Berman call Larry Johnson Grandma-ma?

There was a bball player named Larry Johnson back in the day and he was in commercials as a grandma. Thats all I can think of.

Yeah that's why. He was a real high draft pick, All-Star caliber player, but he became known as Grandmama for the commercials he did dressed a basketball-playing granny....

Because Chris Berman is a f***tard whose sole "skill" is coming up with crappy nicknames for players.

I hate him. In fact, I'd take pleasure in trapping Berman and Stuart Scott (hell, all of ESPN's crew except for Van Pelt and Anderson) in a burning buidling.

The Rams turn the ball over because of a fumble by Steven Jackson (In the tune to Wizard of Oz's "If I Only Had A Brain")

Yeah this shit has to stop. Crappy nicknames, won't ever shut the hell up during NFL draft day, Home Run Derby chants (back back back etc.), it all needs to stop.

Oh BTW I heard Stuart Scott doing this rap-poetry shit and I wanted to puke. Nobody wants to hear these Bermanisms/Scott catch phrases/Rap crap.

Oh well, nobody's as bad as Metro Sports' Brad Porter. Is it just me or is there just somehting about him that pisses people off whenever he talks? (sigh) It's late and I'm going to beddy bye!

Why does someone ask this question every week?

Because it's some of Berman's worst work.

IMO Berman feels to be endorsed on this issue by the fans. I think it was in the late 70s that ESPN was going to fire him for this kind of stuff and the fans revolted. Berman was ESPN at that time IMO.

Back, Back Back Back back Back, he might go, he might go etc.

At least LJ doesn't do the LJ with his arms like the original LJ did, before LJ was LJ, and stuff

Perhaps the above is going too far, but I can't stand Scott and his "lazy" eye.

I'm a fan of word association and Berman has come up with some pretty good ones over the years. Turn the channel if you don't like it.

Lack of creativity.........Berman's schtick has gotten old and he doesn't have the work ethic to upgrade his act. It's not like he has to because I'm pretty sure he's his own boss. He can be biased toward the circling the wagons Bills and the Powder Blue Chargers as well as take facials from Tom Jackson till he spits out Donks love even if he has to taste it twice. I have no hate for "Boomer" I just think he needs to work harder and he need to try to hide his bias more because he is such a big wig in the ESPN organization. At a point he comes off as if he thinks he's bigger then the sports he reports on. Premadonna(sp?) is the perception that comes to my mind. Sports have made ESPN a success..........Not the other way around.
