Who do you think will win tonight?

I think it will be the Colts. The Steelers without Ben at 100% are pretenders. I think the Colts have got too much for them.

will "not my crack pipe" Irvin be on ESPN tonight, I saw Salsbury(?) on with the crew earlier....I'd like to see an on on-air apology for getting caught with a crack pipe...

Michael Escobar, I mean Irvin, is indeed in studio.

Irvin is having a confessional with Stuart Scott right now.

"The pipe wasn't mine! It was my friend's! I have been trying to help him get help!"

Anybody else smell that?

the Talking Can
11-28-2005, 06:42 PM
lame...he said he "patted down" a friend as he came in for Thanksgiving and then put the pipe in his car because he was afraid of people going through his trash (does he put his bank statements in his car too?)...now he's on national TV being asked by some cross-eyed dude about a "crack pipe".....

First it was "I forgot" the pipe was under my seat. Yea, I bet his wife didn't know it was there either. Who was with him when he was pulled over.

And then I thought I paid that speeding ticket, again "I forgot"!

I tell my kids "I forgot" is not an excuse!

He is a freaking adult and he "forgets" a crack pipe is under his seat and He forgets to pay a speeding ticket? :shake: He didn't forget to get on the plane and go to work yesterday.

When I heard ESPN had hired him I e-mailed them and told them how stupid they were for hiring this idiot. I bet they are regretting that decsion now.

They don't care, most of the people who work for the station are morons. Chris Berman makes up stupid nicknames and doesn't add anything. Tom Jackson just sits there and tells Berman he's right while not adding much else. Steve Young is well, the most boring man on the planet. If he speaks for more than a minute I almost fall asleep.

The only way to beat the Colts this year is to pull a Bill Parcells 1990 Super Bowl. Pound away with a great running game and control the clock for about 44 minutes. Keep Manning off the field as much as possible. When they do have the ball, pound the WR's and make them pay after they make the catch.

With a guy like Steve Bonor running the offense we weren't going to win the super bowl. The 2003 defense didn't deserve to win a playoff game. The Colts were just lucky those two years to draw a team someone was going to bounce from the playoffs.

I think the Colts are marginally better than what they were in '03 and '04.
IMHO a team like the '03-'04 Pats or '03 Panthers or '04 Steelers would beat 'em. Gotta out-tough 'em and be able to play a good solid all around game.

They aren't unbeatable.
I agree with that. Problem is there just aren't as many good defenses...

Well, the patently obvious reply is that it gives the Steelers 4 losses, which is almost as good as the Bengals losing. That way it's easier for us to move up from the 8 spot should Pitt stumble any more.

Maybe I'm in a glass house here with the Pats, but there's something about Manning that makes it difficult to like him. Probably it's a combo of (1) the ridiculous arm waving and wandering around at the LOS, and (2) the pathetic whining look he gets on his mug when things don't go his way and he starts bitching to the refs.

I don't hate the Colts, but I just can't like the guy.

Well, if I have it right... the Steelers, Chargers, and Chiefs would be tied for the last wildcard. We'd be eliminated from a three way tie because SD beat us, and then the Steelers have the head-to-head win over SD and get the spot. However, we play SD, so we can control knocking them out. In record yes, but then you have to go to a tiebreakers. The three teams are SD, Pitt, and KC. KC and SD are from the same division, so you have to break that tie first. Since SD has beat KC they would advance to a tiebreaker with Pittsburgh. Then in the SD/Pitt tiebreaker, Pitt beat SD so they win that tiebreaker. So the order for the 6th seed is:

Pitt
SD
KC
