I thought we locked him up through 2010 a couple of years ago. Lincoln, the NFL Channell analyst, sits in on the evening Sports Talk show on Monday's and said Green will be a FA after this year and the Chiefs haven't locked him up yet and that the Raiders should sign him. Several callers agreed. I think this was just another Raider mental error.

Green was locked up for 7 years or so when we resigned him.

Silly Raiduhs.

Bullshit, he's got like a 50 million dollar 7 year deal or something like that.

Transactions: Signed a seven-year contract with Kansas City (2/27/03) ...

Are we sure it's OUR Green they're talking about?

If they are, they're wrong. And Green wouldn't sign with anyone else anyway.

What I don't get it how these clowns are allowed to say any kind of factless dribble that they want on the air. They should have to run their takes by a fact checker before they go on the air.

Darrell Green? He should be getting old enough by now.

It was Trent Green. He was talking about how good Green would be with all of their weapons after the lack of weapons in KC. If he's simply speaking of WR's he's correct that we have been less than average. I was shocked when he said it but then after thinking about it I knew he was wrong. The Oakland fans sure got excited though.

Green's contract massively inflates next year.

He really has the chance to be a FA. I think if Vermeil leaves, the likelyhood of that happening is very good.

Eh, I don't think he's interested in starting over somewhere else.

Trent will probably just renegotiate. He's 36. I doubt he wants to move his family after establishing himself in KC.

I don't either, but if we cut him to keep from paying him I don't see him crawling back here to resign...

the only way that makes sense is if he's predicting the Chiefs will cut him because his contract might be really high next year, but I seriously doubt it. Ahman Green will be a FA next year, but Lamont Jordan has been pretty good for them....well at least for my fantasy team :p

Very good point. Especially if we bring in a coach with a whole new offensive system and philosophy.

If we lose Green, we will be freaking bare at quarterback. All these years we could have been developing someone at that third QB spot, but instead we sign veteran guys who couldn't cut it as #2 QB's.

You know lincoln and kennedy are both 7 letters long? SHOCKING

Based on the fact that a list of the 2006 free agents has already circulated around this year that didn't have Trent Green's name on it, and by this contract info I found on Green, I'm gonna have to go ahead and call bullshit.

Green, Trent QB
2001 2,400,000
2002 650,000
2003 655,000
2004 1,795,000
2005 4,700,000
2006 5,700,000
2007 7,200,000
2008 7,700,000
2009 9,200,000

Wrong.

He was talking about RB Ahman Green who is scheduled to be an UFA this offseason.

Do you get KNBR in Miami?

It was Kennedy who was wrong. During a conversation about who they should start instead of Collins, Tui or Walter. The conversation then turned to who would come in and coach the team if they dump Turner. The question then came up as to who will be available to replace Collins.

Linc then chimed in and said that Trent Green's contract expires at the end of the year and that because he hasn't been given an extension yet that Chiefs are planning to go in a different direction at QB.

The 2 hosts also were proud about the fact that Linc works at the NFL Network and is plugged into league sources. Next 2 callers said that Linc was right, Green would be a great fit for the Raiders and should pursue him in the offseason.

He sits in on the Razor (a freak vegetarian, PETA member who would never have a sports radio job in any other town than this) and Mr. T (Tom Tolbert who is an NBA analyst and former player) on Monday evenings when Tom takes the night off on KNBR.

I was surprised though that Linc did say that the tripping call in the 4th 1/4 of the last Chiefs game was not a bad call. He is not a total homer.

Green's going nowhere. I don't know why Kennedy would even say that.

I'm guessing he might think that because Green is pretty tight with Norv Turner. However for any of that to come to fruition:

A)Norv would have to keep his job.

B)The Chiefs would have to cut Green (unless he has some magical unknown roster option "out" clause no one knows about).

The only AFC West QB who is a free agent is Brees, and San Diego will probably lock him up after the season or franchise him again...

Sounds like some wishful thinking to me. It aint gonna happen.

We wont let Trent go anywhere. Yes he is 35 and his contract may inflate, they will redo it.

I say this partly because I am a fan and want him here, but Mainly because what would our other options be??? If we had a groomed backup with youth and talent and ready to go then...who knows...

Kennedy & Woodson are pretty good on Total Access. I like the show a lot better when Eisen & Terrell Davis are absent

I believe Ahman Green is a free agent after this year.

Per the Chiefs web site, Trent Green signed a 7 year contract extension on 2/27/03!
