I'm really stoked for the game ... it's been a while that the 2nd game in this series has had both teams fighting for something.

And, since I'm anticipating it so much... it will likely bore me to tears with a 9-6 outcome or something.

Hey Teej, what’cha think ‘bout a sixer bet? Straight up, who ever wins gets a free six pack of quality brew.
I’ll put up a sixer of Boulevard Pale Ale, or their Wheat if you prefer if you’ll put up a quality brew from your area. Deal?

Yeah 2003 was so long ago.

My bad... I was thinking it was prior to 2003, but after looking it up, I was correct in thinking that KC hasn't had that many games "to play for something" in December recently.

KC has only finished above .500 once since 1999...

Its been stated that Chiefs fans don't really know how to tailgate, so I'm sure they'll be fighting for a good seat to see how "real fans" tailgate.

They'll be over at the Of1 spot, trying the free samples of Dick cheese patee and green tea.

I should point out that, from 1999 through the end of the 2004 season, the Chiefs totaled 50 wins, compared to only 44 for the Broncos.*

A prime example of laying the groundwork for justifying getting your ass kicked. Pretend the game is so much more important to the team that you anticipate beating you, in an effort to lessen the worth of the win.

Honestly, it probably is KC's Superbowl, until we win. Then the next game is our Superbowl, and so on and so on. And the win may not ultimately have any bearing on the division standings, but it will put more pressure on Denver while building confidence for a Chiefs team that appears to be on the upswing.

So go ahead and downplay it Taco. Tell yourself and all of us that it's not an important game to Denver and it's fans. I wouldn't expect any less from a pussy like you.

Someone want to bump that thread about the excuses Broncos fans will be making Sunday evening? This seems to fit the bill nicely.

Mile High Mania
12-01-2005, 11:12 PM
I believe it's equally as important... sure, if KC loses and SD beats Oakland, then KC is really fighting an uphill battle for the wildard.

But, if Denver loses... and SD beats Oakland, then there's just a 1 game lead over 2 teams in the division, and chants of "they're fading" will be heard daily.

If Denver can pull off a minor miracle winning at Arrowhead (damn tough place to win, doesn't matter what the records are) then I think that not only makes SD the only threat within the division, but it will go a long way in showing what type of team Denver could be in the playoffs.

Do you have any recipes for that?

Yes

ROAST DONKEY

1 Donkey butt slathered with Crisco.
Wound well and then rub salt in it.
Marinade in Taco sauce, Horsefaceradish and Plum(mer) sauce.
Take outside and kick around for approx 3 hours.
Wrap the whole mess up in Monday's Denver Post and throw
into dumpster.
Eat the heart.
Enjoy!
