(Non-Phil Thread)

For the sake of argument lets say we finish 2nd, the Steelers stumble and miss the playoffs and we make it in.

Do you trust Tynes to kick a game winning playoff FG?

We really have no choice, but yeah he has been real solid all year, the buff game was just nuts but he's been proving himself and nailed some bombs in miami, i hope we get a chance to even attempt to use him in the PO's.

Why not?

Let's cross that bridge when we come to it. I have all the confidence in the world in my laddie.

Hes going to have to learn to kick in bad/cold/windy weather. He missed those two in Buffalo, but to be fair, so did the Buffalo kicker. January in Arrowhead has been murder on our kickers in recent Chiefs history. IM not too worried about it though, the kid has impressed me quite a bit this year. Theres alot more to worry about on this team right now than Tynes.

Ok, I fixed it.

The percentages were all correct, I just mixed a few of the columns during my editing.

Good point, forgot about that. Then why did he miss two in Buffalo?? Weird....

That was just a windy day across the great lakes... that was the same day of the Bears-49ers game where FG's were getting whipped all over the place like a bad video game and that one FG was returned 108 yards. I've never kicked a football professionally, but I imagine wind gusts like that are just like playing golf... you can hit a good ball but if the wind decides to gust at the right time you're screwed.

I wondered if Buffalo was a place where the field goal percentage was low for opposing kickers. But after checking, opposing kickers are 5/8 there this season.

Lindell has a great percentage at home, but he's a darn good kicker anywhere.

According to some jackass who posted on here, said that he was a stud kicker in college, said wind doesn't matter. :shake:

Next time the wind is blowing my car to the side on the highway I'll remember that I don't need to steer to keep it on the road.

Hard for me to believe I'm saying this...but hell yeah! I thought Tynes was going to get cut in August & here he is showing everyone one they were wrong.

Gotta give DV credit here....he somehow knew Tynes would be good. I know I never did....

Who would we rather have, Kaeding? I think not. Marty loves kickers, though-- to death....

For no good reason, huh.Pretty much, seriously. It has more to do with the fact we have not had a playoff kicker we could trust since Jan Stenerud, and it all started with his disastrous Miami playoff performance. Our kickers have not been trustworthy in the playoffs since. It has pretty much nothing to do with Tynes personally.

OK I get you. Chiefs kickers are like women and you have been burned too many times.

I don't think I'd stake my life on him pulling off a game-winning FG in the playoffs, but he's certainly been more consistent than we've had for quite a while. So, he gets a :thumb: in my book.
