View Full Version : Giants OT says he's going to smash Jared Allen's punk-azz

From the Ny Post
December 15, 2005 -- If Bob Whitfield lines up Saturday as the starting left tackle for the Giants he'll see Jared Allen staring back at him across the line of scrimmage. Allen, the Chiefs' right defensive end, is among the league leaders with 10 sacks.

Let the battle commence.

"I'm going to [bleeping] smash his punk-ass any time I get the chance," Whitfield vowed yesterday.

Subtle is not a word often associated with Whitfield, who will be entrusted to move into the lineup as the cohesiveness of the Giants offensive line is demolished for the first time this season.

Allen, a second-year defensive end, probably doesn't know much about Whitfield's history as a top-flight tackle in Atlanta.

"He can pull out the archives," Whitfield said. "I didn't just land on this planet yesterday."

No kidding. Calling the guy you will face on a NFL football field a punk before the game. Telling him you are going to smash him. Not a good idea. I'm sure this comment will make it back to him soon.

I hope Gunther is sure to remind Allen that Whitfield just called him a puzzy.

For some reason.....Allen doesn't exactly seem to be the kind of personality it would be beneficial to call out. something tells me, he'll be fired up, and throw a nut punch or two in a pile if he's mad.

The fact that he has to call out Allen and has to focus on him shows you how much respect he is getting around the league. You don't hear many people blabbing about stopping Hicks, because that's pretty much a given.

Whitfield is the same age as Shields - 34, and a year younger than Roaf.

Whitfield has just been in the league a year longer than both Roaf and Shields.

"He can pull out the archives," Whitfield said. "I didn't just land on this planet yesterday."

Oh. He was one of those dominant tackles that played for Atlanta. Now I remember. I remember a 56-10 drubbing of Atlanta by the Chiefs last year.

A game where that magnificent OL protected Vick so well that he passed for a little over 100 yards and a 13.9 QB rating. Yep, that's no typo a thirteen-point-nine rating. 2 picks and 4 sacks.

Guess who had 2 of those 4 sacks. That's right, little whipping boy Jared Allen in his first year in the NFL.

Sounds to me like there is a below average OL who is still a little red in the ass over last years whuppin' behind the wood shed.

The New York Times had an article today about Whitfield and it talked about how is the comedian of the locker room and other info regarding the likelihood that he would probably have to sub on Saturday.

The New York Post is a bit of a fishwrapper, and it would not be surprising if it made up something or took a joke that Whitfield was making and cast it as bulletin board material.

The beauty of it is, Allen usually plays like he's been called out every week anyway.

I wonder if defensive linemen ever feel like Allen is showing them up when he makes a big play and then takes off like a big happy kid back to the huddle or sideline, especially at Arrowhead?
