175 yards a game avg? Wow unheard of.

Is this the most in any 7 game stretch of total yards from scrimmage?

12 tds in that stretch as well.

Priest had 1174 the last 7 games in 02 167.71 avg

He was on pace for the all time yards from scrimmage record that year

Even the great LT can't say that

Now if we just had a _efense worth a sh!t we might be able to get winnable games like today.

Not taking anything away from LJ .. it just seems a waste that we can't take advantage of his great abilities by stoping the OTHER team.

PBJ for LJ

:cuss: :banghead: for the _efense.

I am sure that KK and JW will find something to crap on him with this week.

Davis topped the 2,000 mark in 1998 and through games 2 - 9, he tallied 1,188 total yards and 12 TDs.

So, LJ is better than TD.

Heh.

wasted yards to say the least

Yeah, I don't wanna read this crap.

Precisely because I'd challenge someone to find an instance where the RB repeated that performance at any later point in his career. If we don't make the playoffs we're totally wasting him.

Impressive. I'd rather we'd have won though--last week or tonight.

LJ is the man, no doubt.

The thing that really impressed me today is the TD he scored late in the game, he didn't celebrate.

That, to me, says something about his competitiveness and desire.

He looked pissed.
He looked like a man that understood there was more work to do.

I'm so sick of watching players celebrate meaningless TDs, and watching that was refreshing.

The point was that someone asked if it was some type of record... so, I just posted the stats of the one guy I knew was pretty close.

You know... a comparison.

At the same time, we've given him a ton of carries over this span. Over those 7 games, he's had 203 carries. Yikes.

And the first game of that 7 game stretch Priest was just "out", once we knew LJ was the guy, we've ramped up his usage.

If you project out his stats over the last 6 games since he truly became the featured back, it'd project out to 483 carries, 2432 yards. Both of those are NFL records by a huge margin.

Sure, in odd 7 game comparisons...

considering that was about 1/5 of Terrell Davis' career, seems like a valid point

Ah, but he did so much over that short span... hell, he has better playoff numbers than a lot of RBs currently in the HOF did in the playoffs.

Wow, I never really realized how many carries he's had.

Since were out of the playoff race and blah... blah... blah... I really think he shouldn't be used like that. Save it for when we have a defense and can win when we get in the playoffs.

Too bad Johnson can't get a chance to run against the Chiefs defense. He'd shatter some records.

They are not officially eliminated yet so they will continue to pound him. I think LJ would want it that way anyway. Of course KK would say he is just selfish then. It would have nothing to do with being competitive.

priest really needs to come back next year, so we don't have to run LJ 30 times a game. not holding my breath, but it would be a nice luxury.

speaking of blocks, t-rich made some damn nice pass blocks today. it didn't matter in the end, but hey they were nice.

priest would be an awesome 3rd down back.

he can pass block, catch screens, and be a significant threat.

less time would keep him healty, and give LJ a much needed rest.

LJ looked tired as hell tonight, especially after getting up slow

...but he ain't comin back.
