UCF takes a 32-28 lead in the Hawai'i Bowl, then falls behind 42-32. They get a field goal late, recover the onside kick, and even the game up at 42 to send it to overtime.

On the first play of OT, a Nevada receiver catches the ball, is hit, and fumbles it. It's an obvious fumble. Only one problem... the dumbass ref closest to the play blew the whistle as the ball was on the ground in the middle of half of UCF's defense. It's ruled incomplete, and unreviewable, despite the fact that it would have been next to impossible for UCF to NOT end up with it if he hadn't fellated the whistle like a moron.

Nevada eventually scores a touchdown. Two plays into their series, UCF breaks off a 19-yard TD run. The guy who not long before kicked a 47-yarder to help send the game to OT blows the extra point to the right, and Nevada celebrates their ill-gotten victory.

****ing horrible way to end a game, and you could just see it coming as soon as the mistake was made.

What really sucks is that everyone around the ball (5 UCF players, including the guy who was on top of it as soon as it popped loose, and 2 Nevada players -- one of whom was the receiver who lost it, and the other being the farthest away of the seven players involved in the play at that point) was STILL going for it as hard as they could after the whistle was blown. The aforementioned "farthest guy away" was trying to leap over UCF defenders to get to the ball even after the whistle started chirping.

I picked Nevada in that game, so I'm happy.
