View Full Version : Kirk Ferentz would be an intriguing choice for HC

He actually tutored under Bill Belilichik in Cleveland. He was the offensive line coach there in Cleveland in the early 1990's so he has some NFL experience. Great story on CNNSI about the Cleveland meltdown in 1995:

Or San Antonio, Texas. That's pretty close to Iowa.

Exactly, i have no loyalties or ties to Iowa, i just think that if Carl really wanted to take a chance and do something different for once, he would be a good choice. Anybody who has learned from Belicheck cant be all that bad.

Be specific. You're taking jabs at ME. Apparently, I'm the only Hawk fan that will stick up for themselves here.

There's several here, but they're conspicuously absent when I'm getting piled on by 4 or 5 people.

Fuggers.

In order to be funny, it should at least have some semblance of truth to it.

You know Missouri farmers invented buttonfly jeans, right?

The sound of a zipper makes the sheep stampede...

Excellent idea. He could replace Will Shields.

There is no way he is ready to leave Iowa. He is very well paid, and has built one hell of a program in a short period of time. I think he will coach in the NFL, but it will be 2 or 3 years from now. Everything is built for 2008 of the Hawks, cake schedule, great recruiting class.

It won't be in 2 or 3 years, either, unless the money is off the charts.

1) He's from Pittsburgh. He's likely waiting on Cowher.

2) He's said repeatedly that he wants his kids to finish school in Iowa City. His youngest is 12.
