Seriously. I really don't get the hype with him. He hardly does anything most of the time. I see him trying to avoid contact quite a bit. I can deal with that from my wide receiver, but not from my linebacker.

I'll give you the challenges, the fact Carr had to burn TO's to get them is pure BS, and the PI call. BOTH teams had players on the field, you could just see NU's better because their sideline was more visible. There was also a ridiculous roughing the passer, and kick interference penalties on NU. The entire officiating crew, on the field and in the booth, were a complete band of idiots.

Hey Skip, I'm back. You can abuse me now.

1) I'm proud of the team fighting back the way they did and making a game of it. They could have given up but they didn't.

2) I hate bitching about officiating. I could even dismiss the late hit call in the 2nd quarter that led to a Florida score. But 2 calls really irked me. You guys saw the offsides on the onside kick that never happened. But did anyone see the 15-yard facemask penalty on Clinton Solomon? They played it over and over and Solomon was clearly being drug to the ground by his facemask, yet the penalty was ON HIM? That's just crazy.

3) Chad Greenway has struggled all season making big plays because we have 2 sophomores and 2 freshmen on the defensive line. He doesn't get much protection at all. The quotes earlier in this thread are laughable - how many of you thought the same thing about Derrick Johnson? Because Greenway is every bit the player he was.

That being said, the refs were horrible. They made calls that prolonged scoring drives for Florida, and calls that stalled drives for Iowa. Hard to overcome your mistakes when you're playing against and team and the refs.

As for Greenway, he's certainly had a down year. But it's not like this hype is just Hawkeye fans talking. We're not the ones ranking him as one of the best pro prospects in the country. He hasn't been as active against the run this year, but may be one of the best coverage LBs in the country. A weak D-line has made his job a lot tougher this year. He's clearly not deserving of the "top five pick" hype that he got before the season, but he'll still be a first day draft pick.
