With Marinelli gone and Saunders gone who's left on the list? There's one guy I can think of who would seem a perfect fit...and his last name rhymes with farts.

I'm surprised Cam Cameron's name hasn't been thrown around for that job. I also think Mike Tice seems like a Raiders guy.

But it will probably be someone like Lofton.

Eh, actually Tice is a decent guy; I can't see him goin' to work for A L Davis; kinda like Saunders blew them off.....he'll be a OC somewhere, and he'll get a second shot as a HC eventually.

I wasn't suggesting that Tice isn't a decent person, Mr. Kotter. It's just that he strikes me a tough guy more or less. Plus, he's worked with Moss. I could see him working with a team like that. It's in his attitude or something.

I disagree, Martz makes more sense. Tice is actually a good guy, hired by a cheapass owner ahead of the time he was ready to be a HC....he reminds me alot of Solari.....or even a young Saunders. I think he'll be a good HC in the league eventually; just not next year. And, hopefully, he has the sense to stay away from Chokeland.

I don't pretend to have all the answers, but seriously....the local media here in Vikingland claimed that Tice was just fed-up; so when McCombs (the former cheap bastard owner) wanted to save some money, and simultaneously give the appearance of improving the defense....trading Moss was the easiest way to clear Cap space.

OTOH, Tice did seem to like Moss; and understand him as well as any human being could....but, apparently, even he tired of Moss's chit.

I doubt they have the slightest clue, either.

I guess they did give their DC, Rob Ryan, a contract extention though. So whoever takes the job is going to have to take him as a DC whether they like it or not.

Clash of egos. Davis hasn't hired anyone he didn't think he could control in 30 years. Anyone with half a testicle was sent packing (Shannahan, Gruden). I don't see either Martz or Greasy Al agreeing to work with the other.

All the Faider fans over on their board believe it will be whisenhunt or Cameron. Why they think this is not for certain, but lots of chatter that the pick has already been made because Ryan was upped for another 3 years and Al wouldn't do that unless the new guy said it was o.k. (riiiiight!).

The Raiders won't be good until they find a competent QB. That could 3 or more years.

That make a lot more sense, Mr. RedNeckRaider.

I think tackling Pinocchio would be difficult at best. He stays low to the ground, has speed, and that damned pointy nose hurts like hell when he drives it into your headgear.

Thanks for clarifying.

One thing I like about what Davis has done is that he'll have his pick of all the assistants from the final 4 teams. Well, except for Kubiak.

Whisenhunt, Russ Grimm, Trgovac, although I doubt he'd go with a defensive guy since he already re-signed Ryan as DC.

I can't speak for UG or RnR, but I myself have been stranded from home for the better part of the week, and am only at post 42 (this one I'm replying to) but as soon as I read all of them I'll share some of my thoughts on the situation.

I never thought I'd see Parcells and Jerry Jones together... One just never knows. Crazy Al looks more and more dead each year, no telling telling what he might do in a last stab effort to reclaim some glory for the butt raider nation.

OK, here's my take on it.
Saunders might have "blown off" Al and the boy's and could very possibly spend another 10 years getting a second chance at an HC position (not saying he's good or bad, just stating the obvious. It's every coach's dream to be a HC of an NFL team.)
But he's also got to look at our "Post Chucky years".
Looking at the state of our team, we've gone spiraling downhill ever since Chucky taught Calahan how to win a football game.
And what coach in his right mind would want to commit career suicide by taking on the task of trying to do something with our team?
We've got Offence
We've got no defense
Our special teams suck
What the hell can a new HC do about it?
Jack shit that's what.
It's gonna take a min of 5 years to correct "most" of the problems we have right now at the rate were going.

We lost Gannon, and haven't had a QB since. Ok, Gannaon wasn't Jo Montana, but give the guy some credit. He did get a few Division titles, a Conference title, and got to a SB.
(Yeah yeah yeah, lets bring up his SB records for the most embarrassing 3 hours of a QB's life)
Collons was no damn good in Carolina, and he's no damn good here.
They let Tui play against the Jet's, and what happened, he got sacked 6 times.
SIX FU@KING TIMES, for cry'n out loud they weren't ALL his fault, what ever happened to pass protection???
We need an offensive line first and foremost.
We have Randy Moss (possibly one of the best WR's in the last 10 years when he's "on".)
Jerry Porter who could very eaisly become a hall of fame'er with the way he heading.
What we don't have is a QB capable of utilizing what he has.

And why?
Because of a crusty old fart who still thinks what worked in 76', 81' and 84 will still work.

Here's a fu@ken news flash Al
IT AIN"T FU@K"N WORKEN just hurry up and go into a coma already will ya?
