Anyone ever buy/sell anything from there?

I'm a Machinist and just purchased 2 micrometers. Got a good deal. Anyone ever get hosed on something?

I got hosed on tickets to the Chiefs game @ Lambeau back in 2003. After involving the FBI and the police in the guy's area, I eventually got my money back about 6 months later.

Other than that, I've had all good experiences.

I've bought and sold on ebay for 3 years now. Not a ton of transactions, but enough to get a blue star next to my name.

You have to use common sence, people can and do occasionally get screwed on ebay.

If I am looking for an extremely expensive item, I will not buy it from someone with a small feedback score unless its at a heavy discount, and even then its with the full knowledge that I'm taking a risk.

If you are buying something from someone with well over a hundred positive feedback, with very few or no negative comments, its usually a safe bet. Feedback is highly important on ebay, put yourself in the other guys shoes. You want to sell your stuff and in order to do that you need people to trust you. You are going to spend a lot of effort building up your reputation, the last thing you need is an ugly red mark on your history screaming "THIS SOB SCREWED ME, DO NOT BUY FROM HIM!!!!"

Occasionally with people who have done thousands of transactions they will inevitably get a couple complaints because somebody out there will misunderstand or whine about something stupid, but as long as the feedback is in the high 90% positive, I'll trust them.

I spent about $260 on tickets to a basketball game last week. The guy had a very low feedback score (about 10 or so) so I didnt have much of a history on him. However, his auction said he would accept an in-person cash transaction and he lived 10 miles away, so because of that, I decided to win the auction and bought the tickets from him face to face.

If the seller has a feedback less than 20, I wont buy anything worth more than maybe 20 bucks from them till they get more experience. I wont buy anything really expensive unless the score is at least close to 50, unless there are special safe conditions like the above.

I hadnt bought anything uber-expensive yet, but I wouldnt buy something online worth $1,000+ unless the guy had a score close to 500 with 99%+ positive feedback.

I've bought several fax machines and printers and almost all of them have something wrong with them. I've been able to fix most of them. I bought a webtv that was locked by the original owner. I won't buy anything over $50 on ebay. In contrast, my brother buys late model pickups on there.

I've bought stuff anywhere from $2 to $2500 on eBay and never had a problem. On high-dollar purchases, I always ask the seller for a phone number and address. That way, I can cross check the two (use Google to reverse lookup phone numbers) to make sure they are who they say they are. If I'm still suspicious, I call them to ask about the auction. There's still no guarantee that you'll get what you paid for, but at least you make sure you know who to go after if your stuff doesn't show.

Listing fees are based on the starting price, then there's a flat rate for all the "extras" like pictures, bold face, or "premium" listings (shown first in search results). You're also charged a percentage-based fee based on the final closing value of the auction. If you let people pay through Paypal, they take a percentage as well.

So, yeah, it's a little difficult. Here's (http://pages.ebay.com/help/sell/fees.html) the full breakdown if you care that much.

Thanks, I was worried I became invisible. I was looking into putting some stuff on there once and I quickly became confused with their site and gave up. I'm a little slow when it comes to online stuff, I'm much better with a hammer. Maybe I'll give it another shot.

I have purchase several items from ebay, including 3 pickups, 1 computer, 2 saddles, etc. I have sold auto parts, 1 ford expedition, several gokarts, 2 jetskis, etc. Love the site, you just need to read the feedback from your prospective partners and do a little research!

I have had good luck for the most part. The two exceptions being a computer that was returned and I got a refund. And some pirated seasons of Sex and the City which I got a chargeback by my credit card company...and got to keep the fake DVDS.

But sometimes it's a pain in the but. If you have an unresponsive seller it can be hell. Just make sure you check the feedback and document EVERYTHING incase you have a problem later.

Ok, what a difference 24 hours makes. :shake: I see a baseball style fishing hat on Ebay 4 weeks ago that I like so I lay in a bid for $10.95, + shipping of $4.00. I end up winning the thing followed by a note that says, “I am out of town, there may be a few days of delay on getting your item out.” I’m thinking no biggie, it’s a damn hat, not something life and death. Weeks go by and today the “thing” shows up. Now by thing, I mean I had no idea it was my hat because this dumb Gunt sent it in a regular vanilla envelope. I’m talking this silly bitch stuffed it in there, beat the hell out of it and sent it on it’s way. To add insult to injury, I was charged $4.00 for Shipping and the snatch hung three .37 cent stamps on there netting herself a bonus $2.89 and leaving with a hat that is the same height as a pancake.

It gets better, It seems Margaret is a PETA member, judging by her return address label with the giant PETA logo on it. That fact along would have been enough to gravel my ass beyond the point of no return without the postage ****ing and the hat showing up with its ass kicked. Needless to say, I just sent Margaret a little note. :cuss:

If your a seller with good products that are similiar I find you'll get a lot of repeat business. I sold about 150 auctions in 2005 but my feedback only reached 79 because many were sold to the same buyers, so even though their remarks are posted in feedback section it doesn't add to your count. When looking at a seller, also checkout the overall feedback total count and the percentage that is positive.

I sold a lot of mint older knives like Case, Winchester and Remington but grouped them together in 2 to 5 similiar brand or style knives per auction so I could move them faster. I could of probably got more if I sold each separately but every auction brought in good amounts in the hundreds. Also, you can save on listing fees if you start out at $9.99, even though I might have a knife with a book value of $500 you don't need to put a high starting price, that really scares off the buyers. You can put in a "reserve price" but I didn't do that either, sometimes I had a "buy now" price but I stopped that because many times they sold for more than I had been hoping for. I sold out all the knives, I had probably a couple of hundred knives when I started.

Spent a few grand buying tickets to Arrowhead over the past 4 years or so. My biggest Ebay purchase was 4 seats in a row to the Raiders game @ Arrowhead during the 2003 season. Row 14ish toward midfield. Was just a bit over $800 as I recall.

It is definately a higher quality...Reebok has started making a jersey they call "replithentic", that is kind of a middle ground between the two. They have stitched on numbers and lettering, and come closer to the price range he's selling at. I wonder if he might be passing those off as authentic. To the untrained eye, I think he could pass them off as such.

I don't like the small, blurry pics he provides, and question how he can afford to sell those jerseys for over $100 below the lowest price point I've ever seen on authentics. It just doesn't jive.

Either way, if you're happy with the product for the price, it doesn't matter.

Get the look and feel of an NFL authentic jersey at less than half the price! The team colored Repli-Thentic jersey is officially licensed and displays a "sewn on" jersey with single layer printed tackle twill numbers at the chest and back along with printed tackle twill letters on a sewn-down name plate on the back. You could call it the new NFL Swingman Collection.

I never... NEVER... buy movies on eBay unless I do a thorough check of their feedback (like every one) and never even consider buying a movie from someout outside of the U.S.

Been hosed only once on an "official" DVD -- it was a pirated copy. A good one, as everything was professional, but you could tell in the little details. The cover was obviously printed on a HQ bubble jet, the printing on the DVD went off the print area into the inner ring... text on the jacket was pixelized... didn't waste too much, only about $20.
