View Full Version : Do you wrap your meat?

Ok, we all know that to truly enjoy rib's you need a smoker etc.

Well, that being said, obviously I don't have access to one, nor do I have access to enough charcoal on a Sunday to do them outdoors. (I know I know, when I left the mainland yesterday I should have picked up more.
What I didn't expect is for everyone on this damn island to be out bbq'ing today :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: )


Here's my question to the planet.
Rib's ,slow cook OBVIOUSLY at anywhere from 225-300 (I'm sure everyone will have the ‘best temp/time"
What I want to know is do you wrap your ribs in foil and bake, or not? :hmmm:

Personally I do a dry rub the night before, very lightly apply my homemade bbq sauce, rap in foil, and bake for 3-3-1/2 hours then haul em' out of the foil, slap lots of sauce on em' and bake for another ½ hour or so.

After 3 hours of roasting all I can say after sampling a very small bite

( newfinees dialect is kinda like a drunken Irishman's crossed with a Stoned Scott)

I apparently didn't read right. I voted for yes, but after reading the full post I have to change my vote. I never... NEVER... "finish" in the oven. I will wrap the ribs once I get the bark I want, but they stay in the smoker. And I can't say I consistently wrap them -- sometimes they stay in the smoker unwrapped until they're done.
