You boys really don't get it, do you? I'll be really brief on this one, as opposed to last year's McCartney diatribe.
Those pathetic (yea, that's an "e" not an "i",) corpses are partially responsible for the music you are able to listen to today...had not the Stones been around, you'd probably be flocking to the Andy Williams Theatre in Branson to hear "Moon River" cuz that would be about as close to the edge pop music would be.
BTW-Jagger is 63, and post me a pic of your azz when you hit his age.

I don't think they sound all that great either. Personally I could care less what they look like if they sounded good... but I don't know, Mick's been run through the ringer pretty hard, he just doesn't have much vocal range.

It sounded crook but i dare say it was mostly the set up rather than the performance. Even the guitars had no life in them - say what you will about Mick's voice but obvoiusly kieth can still play. The P.A sounded terrible - like the tv audio was coming from field mikes rather than directly from the sound desk.

my ears were wide open, and now I wish they shut!!

if it was all about the music, they would have just said they were going to play a Stones CD for the halftime SHOW. Live rock performance is not just about the music(but that sucked balls, with the singer forgetting the lyrics, etc...) it is about the how you put your music out there, and tonight's peformance BLEW!!!

not exactly living legends... but legends on life support!

Sorry, I was listen through a Sony ES receiver with Infinity speakers. They blew.

That's not my TV speakers. I remember getting a Best Buy freebie DVD a couple years back and it had a promo clip from the latest Stones concert DVD, I was surprised at just how flat Jagger sounded, and that was a professionally mastered DVD. That's just life, you can't do the same stuff as well as you get old, and I'm sure his lifestyle hasn't helped.

if the audio was from the field mics, it would most likely sounded better, what we were hearing was mostly from the board. Though Mr. Richards is a good guitar palyer, I have always thought he was way overrated.

I love it when people trot out the old "they're responsible for what you listen to" defense. Yes, they are classics, yes, they are and were extremely influential on today's music scene. Yes, they turned in some serious suckage at the halftime show today. All the influence in the world won't make today's performance suck any less. They have been great in the past, they were horrible today, end of story.

They did sound and look bad tonight. They were washed up when I saw them in person 10 years ago. Pearl Jam opened and blew them off the stage. They should have never been booked for the show. To think, tickets to the Stones in the VIP section were $2,000+ all year. What a waste.

Apparently, ABC did censor them... they used to the 5 second delay to mute a couple different words during the performance.
