God, who can stand listening to R&B and bubblegum pop for 2 hours? The first episodes of American Idol are ok for the comedic value when watching people who cant sing get humiliated, but after that, the show is brutal.
I'd rather watch figure skating in the olympics, where you at least might see someone hurt themselves while the US tries to win a medal.

It's gonna be interesting.
Lisa and Paris are, by far, the best female singers in the competition. I have to agree with others who said that Paris being in the competition doesn't seem fair.
Katherine McPhee redeemed the "women" with her performance, but so far this competition belongs to the "girls".

I watched Idol for the first time since Kelly Clarkson walked off stage... Love that gal... Anyway, I haven't seen the girls, but the only guy with any star value is Ace Young. Every other guy sucks dog balls in comparison... And some do outside of the comparison.

There seems to be a bright line between the haves and have nots this year. You picked the top 4 guys. With the girls there were three - the two young ones and the last girl to sing that first night.

Hicks SHOULD win. He's by far the best performer in the competition - he's unique with a great voice. He harkens back to Ray Charles and one of my all-time favorites, Joe Cocker.
Alas, the American public generally votes like sheeple - I fully expect someone like Ace or Pickler to win...

My picks are Lisa Tucker and Katherine McPhee. The fat dude is so bad, they might have as well put the singing cowboy kid in the final 24. I think Sway and the fat kid got in because the twins went to jail.
I also love Hicks. Even if he doesn't win, I would still buy his cd.
I think Bucky looks like he belongs on an episode of Cops, with his jeans falling off his ass, no t-shirt, standing in front of his trailer.
I am not into dudes, but this collection of guys is really damn ugly. Luckily for me, the girls are mostly hot.

If you pick a song that has been performed by a singer with a powerful voice, you can't come out and sing it the way he did. I think that song would be better performed by Melissa, the girl with the low, scratchy voice.

I told my wife last night that I can't watch him sing anymore because I feel like I'm watching Don "No Soul" Simmons. Of course, she's never seen that movie so I had to say "David Allen Grier from In Living Color".
