Mike Preston, of the Baltimore Sun, reports the Baltimore Ravens are still trying to trade CB Chris McAlister, but they have yet to find a trade partner.

Wonder what his money is like. :hmmm:

Love to have him. But I doubt it. Given our current cap situation, we won't be able to afford him. I think this team is going to go DB's in the draft.

I think he just signed a contract with an $8 million bonus in 2004.

I'm thinking he's pretty pricey.

i think he's got a huge salary ... that's a large part of the reason they are trying to trade him.

Well I was thinking the same kind of a thing but since we wouldn't have to pay for his signing bonus his base salary is all we would have to pay.
IF they get the CBA worked out and we trade for him then we could probably redo or give him a new deal for about the same numbers but turn it into signing bonus. I am with you all that it probably won't happen but he is probably better than anyone we could get with our 2cd rounder or 2cd and 3rd.

If that $8mil is a signing bonus, then wouldn't that bonus be accelerated on the Ravens cap if he's traded?

That is my understanding as well.

Anyway, I doubt he'd come to a new team without some kind of new contract.

If the Ravens trade him they will be in desperate need of CBs, they will have what 1 cb on their roster?

Overpaid terribly and he's not great. Fallen off the last couple of seasons.

I'm not surprised. I don't think he's that great at all.
