Poll to follow, nine yards off the question.

No.
We should have cut Wesley, though.

I don't have time to wait for the poll.
I require instant gratification.

I remain surprised that he's gone, and I keep hoping that we'll bring him back and this whole thing is just a paperwork maneuver.

I thought he had matured into a pretty good cornerback, and even if there are some other stars out there, it can't hurt to have good depth on the roster. I'm bummed that he's gone.

Well with the new CBA I probably would've considered keeping him. But I still think that Gunther just doesn't like him. With Vermeil gone he was finally able to get rid of him. Most people yap on and on about McCleon but I think Warfield was the guy that was the biggest problem between DV and Gun.

Oh, yeah. Didn't Gunther bench him back in 1999 or 2000 for Pat Dennis? Or was that someone else?

Speaking of people who should have been let go, Gunt should have been #1 on the list.

I don't know, I base it on a combination of what I see and read. Gun's always raving about this guy, that guy, Hicks, Mitchell, DJ, Sims, etc, etc... he never really had anything positive to say about Warfield. It's public knowledge that he told Julian Battle in front of the entire defense that he wanted him to take Warfield's spot... and then DV said on his radio show or whatever that him and Gun basically had a heated discussion before the Skins game which Gun won and Warfield remained inactive and McCleon got all the snaps. That was the point I figured Warfield was toast.

Warfield wasn't that bad of a CB, i wouldn't mind having him back on but i doubt that will happen.

When he was with the Titans Gun made some comment about how he couldn't belive EW was still with the Chiefs...

I wonder what's going to happen to his website. It's still going.

F#ck him and McPasson. I'm glad they're gone. Overrated, overpriced and seriously, should know better by now. I think the fact that no one even seems to be contemplating sniffing around Warfield's door right now bears that out.

No one's really sniffing Woodson or Law either.

From the looks of it, we should be able to sign him back at a lot less. I wouldn't be surprised if there's an offer out to him and he's shopping to see if he can do better before accepting.

The only other proviso I can see is if the Chiefs don't want to mess with the chance of him signing a contract then getting a year suspension for drinking/driving again 'course there are clauses that could be put into a contract for that.

Carl Peterson would have to be high on crack to want to get Warfield back. To re-sign him, even at a greatly reduced price, would be a huge mistake. He flat out sucked, and should have been cut years ago. Getting rid of him was a great move towards making the defense better.

Let me run the calculations on that.

I don't think they should've cut him.. I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back though.

IMO, the only viable reason to cut him was his price tag. Considering that we now have a ton of cap room, and don't appera to be using it, that doesn't seem like as good of a reason anymore.

Yes, like a hanging turd he was.

If Sapp or one of the others can grow up to be an average CB, the Chiefs will never miss him.
