I'm not sure about lasers, but in terms of regular projectiles, her chest armor would be more effective than that of the guys. A direct hit on her from the front would be more likely to hit at an angle and ricochet.

However, on the other end of the spectrum, she probably has a proportionally larger vulnerable area when viewed from the sides. That would make her more vulnerable in an ambush situation. However, if you take into account actual physical size, that probably washes out.
