Chiefs interested in Walls

Having recovered from a prolonged groin injury, former starting Denver cornerback Lenny Walls visited Kansas City this weekend and may visit Atlanta. Oakland also is showing interest.

Walls was waived by Denver in November and was claimed by the Raiders.
However, he didn't pass his physical.

But Walls is completely healthy now.

It wouldn't be a surprise if Walls signs with the Chiefs. The team has a need at the position and former Denver secondary coach David Gibbs has the same staff job with the Chiefs.

I'm pretty sure the Planet would melt down if the Chiefs signed Walls, rather than Woodson or Law.

That would be quality entertainment.

Isn't Walls the guy that's always injured?

I don't see us picking up any CB's until after the draft if at all. I see us drafting a CB in the 2nd round. If we pick up any FA's at corner it will be at a bargain after the draft.

the bitching about not signing anyone would turn in to bitching about signing a Bronco

The Chiefs are going to bring in a veteran. There's no way they go into the season with Battle, Hodge, and a rookie as the only competition for the #2 CB spot. They'll get someone with gameday experience, although I won't be suprised if it's a bum.

I sure hope you're right. I don't think this coaching staff is going to bring around this d-line AND the defensive backfield.

Lenny Walls is young at 26 years old. He has experience with playing for Denver and Oakland. He has good size at 6’4” 195 lbs. He does have a definite history of being injured. If David Gibbs likes him and the Chiefs could sign him to a low dollar contract, it seems it would be worth it. I guess the danger is that KC will think they don’t have to bring anyone else in.

I have a sneaking suspision that we will resign Warfield at much less than he was asking when we cut him.

I think Lenny Walls qualifies as a bum.

I've been thinking that for awhile, when nothing came of interviews with other CBs.....

Walls....bum... give me Warfield back if the price is right.

Other CBs - Law not likely to fit in the Chief price plan.

Let's see after draft who gets released.

I thought Walls was actually pretty decent.

I'd rather have Warfield back, but Walls wouldn't be a bad pickup, in my opinion.

I'm sure there will be some average safeties in the draft that we could convert to CB

Hopefully, with a former DB and scout at HC, we've seen the last of that practice.

Well he's really tall, so Gunther and Carl will like him. I bet we sign this dude, regardless of his suckage.

At least he's not a former safety.

He did receive a high tender from the Donkeys last year, which can't be a bad sign of his talent.

I bet we draft Ashton Yabouty (CB Ohio St.) in the first round. I'm convinced Carl signs talented FA's every other year....right now we are in a non-talent year. :(
