Or do you have "white man's disease" where you run too slow and jump too low? In high school I could grab the rim and hang by it but couldn't get the ball over the rim to dunk it. The coach told me to stop doing that so I only did it before he got to practice. I'm only 5' 10" but I did a lot of squats with heavy weights.

I can jump up and touch the bottom of the net, so I learned during the recent Villanova game that I can still commit a goaltending foul.

I think you lie. Fatasses can't dunk. Especially SHORT fatasses.

Nope and last time I tried it I tore up my ankle. So I now am unable to jump like I use to be able to in high school.

I'm not lying. I'll show you one day. You can stand under the hoop and verify my flight with your long, white cane.

I'm 5'7", so I had pretty good hops.

Somehow I just can't picture you taking off from the free throw line and still being 10' off the ground at the basket. How tall are you? 5'11"?

I'm 4'23" and can dunk one handed when I can keep a grip on the ball.

I can do volleyballs pretty easy, but the basketball is just a little too much diameter to get my short fingers around.

Phobia
03-29-2006, 09:03 PM
If I stand up straight, I'm 6'. I expect to die at about 5'10".

I noticed the rule addition in post 10. I don't think I can dunk on a 10' hoop any longer. I might not even be able to dunk on a 9' goal.

I've always had white man's disease. I'm 6'2", though, and back in high school I could dunk a tennis ball after doing a moderate weights regimen. Now than I'm fat and weak again, I can barely swish the net. :shake:

our high school team won the class 4 a state championship this year, we had 2 kids who could dunk one was 6-6 and the other one 6-2, and the 6-2 kid could get up higher, and both are white

At your height, you should be able to dunk if you've got "phone book ups." I'm guessing you're regressed to "pizza box ups."

Does this mean you are 5'11" or is that some kind of metric crap.

Just means that I can jump high enough to dunk a basketball other than the grip part. Stickum worked pretty good back then.

I'm a little older and weigh a little more than I did in school.

I'll convert to metrics tomorrow when I can get to a computer.

I graduated from Ruskin High School in 1985. Our high school team had 12 players and 11 of us could dunk (the starting point guard is the only one who couldn't). We ended up 24-4. I was about 6' even then and could 1 & 2 hand dunk. I could bounce the ball off the floor, catch it and 2 hand dunk.

I did my best dunking my freshman year in college. I grew 3 inches my freshman year. I could throw the ball of the backboard, catch it and two hand slam. I could also do reverse dunks and "cup" the ball between my hand and wrist and dunk it (that means I was hitting the rim with my arm about 6 to 8 inches above my wrist).

At the time I was 6'3" 180 lbs. Now 20 years later I'm 6'3" and about 245. So I don't (er...can't) dunk anymore. In fact I retired from the game about 4 or 5 years ago. I'm into losing little white balls in water and trees on golf courses now.

I can still dunk on an adjustable rim.

I'm white but I don't have "white mans disease."

But no I can't dunk. I use to be able to grab rim but I'd be lucky to dunk on a 9' goal now days.

At 5'8" in HS I could only get rim, but I was able to hang in the air for a good amount of time, but when the guy I played with was 6'4" I had to be able to hang for a long time otherwise I was stuffed. I remember having to pull off a quadruple pump fake followed by a windmill, all in the air.

I can dunk 1 handed on 10', but never have in a game, sometimes I get up high enough where I think I should, but just lay it in, so as not to blow the points. I am 6'3"(in shoes) and a white guy.

I'm still pretty young here so I haven't lost my hops yet. Can dunk one handed but usually don't in games because half the time i go up I get hacked by some huge fat guy in the lane.

I have the White Man's Disease, even though I'm not white. I'm only 5'9", and have never played organized basketball. In high school, my football coach measured everyone's vertical jump. If I remember right, my vertical was either 19" or 20". I know, its pathetic. I had no hops. I couldn't even touch the net.

I'm a white boy and I can dunk. I'm still young, but I lost alot of my hops. In high school, I won a couple dunk contests. Used to do 360s, 2 hand, but my best was I jumped over my teammate sitting in a school desk and over a ball rack. Now in college, I can still dunk but its just one handed pussy dunks. I'm 6'4 and I used to be able to get the top of the backboard.

Too bad basketball isnt about dunking or I could have played alot more, my coach liked defense way too much.

Twice in my life, in my mid-twenties. Whitemanitis runs deep in the family. I'm 46 and 6'0". I will only jump and touch rim if I want to feel pain for days. My 6'3" right-handed son can barely dunk but can sky a pretty left-handed layup.

Dunked easily in High School and College (6'5") and noticed a real advantage off of a wood floor. Tall, but hands not huge so I had to cradle the ball between hand and wrist, which require more clearance. I'm 46 now and sprained my ankles so much that is very hard to go off of one foot. Last time I dunked (about 4 years ago) I had to use a volleyball and go from two feet standing still. I've gained weight in the past couple of years so if I tried now my knee caps would explode and I'd probably kill somebody.
