I think I listen to Folsom Prison Blues about everyday. The guitar part is pretty sweet.

Truly a classic!
Luther Perkins, Carl Perkins, Bob Wooten, & Marty Stuart all played
guitar for/with him. All good players.

Ever listen to Cocaine Blues?
Rocking good sh*t!!!!

did somebody just watch the movie "walk the line" and realized that Cash rocks? because otherwise it is freakin obvious that he does, meaning that there is no need to say it on a message board

Why, so that it can sit at the top half of the page for a month and not get looked at?

By the way, I'm not a big country fan. But I think that Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash were a credit to the genre. Johnny's remake of "Hurt" was extraordinarly powerful.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say he rocks, but he is one of the very few country artists that I can actually listen to without desperately wanting to turn the station after half a song!

I guess they did not know what they were doing when they put him in Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I learned that on the Planet by the way. :D

I hang my head and cry.”

Johnny Cash was the man.
The man in black, to be exact. ;)

Well, you wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.

I wear the black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.

I wear the black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.

Well, we're doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.

I wear it for the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.

And, I wear it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.

Well, there's things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.

Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black.

Well, the one on the right was on the left
And the one in the middle was on the right
And the one on the left was in the middle
And the guy in the rear was a Methodist

Well, I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head that didn't hurt.
And the beer I had for breakfast wasn't bad,
So I had one more for dessert.

She was low down and trifling
And she was cold and mean
Kind of evil make me want to Grab my sub machine
Delia's gone, one more round Delia's gone

First time I shot her I shot her in the side
Hard to watch her suffer
But with the second shot she died
Delia's gone, one more round Delia's gone

Now THAT'S effing gangtsa.

Johnny Cash is one of about five people on earth who could hit that low note on the word 'dessert'.

That's perhaps his best song, in my opinion.

He looked up to wipe the sweat away,
I said, "You're a mighty little boy to be workin that way"
He said, "I like it" with a bid wide grin
Kept on a poppin and he said it again
