I can see it's obvious why the Royals have little support. Everybody expects the playoffs by sitting on their asses and not supporting the team. It's a two-way street and alot of the fans have given up before it's even started. We could have a winning team if the masses would actually SUPPORT the team. The bigger the profits, the more they would be willing to pay for talent. It's OUR team, how about doing your part to improve the team, by spending some money at the K?

don't care if we win or lose, i go to quite a few baseball games a year. i'm excited becasue my father who hasn't gone to a game since 93, is going to a game with me this year. i will always love the royals, no matter how many 100 loss seasons they have. hope someday they win, but i'm not losing any sleep over it.

Did you forget who our GM and owner are? Daivd Glass was the first person to tell the KC Star that the Royals made a profit 2 seasons ago after a 100 game loss season. Who here really gives a shit about the Royals making a profit if the Royals are losing? He will never bring in good players. Once the younger players develope into stars he will trade them away for money and maybe a draft pick or a couple prospects or something retarded like that. He has all the money in the world to spend on good players, but he wont do it because its a business and he wants to make money. Hell our payroll is not that much more than the triple A team in Omaha. Thats sad. It's more like we would support the team if the team could at least compete with a double A team. I bet our triple A team could beat the Major League Royals on a consistant basis.

Not that I'm a Glass apalogist or anything, but it'd be extremely unwise to lose money. It's simply a reality we're facing without a cap or anything in baseball.

It's getting better, slowly. We're actually drafting well now, and we've got what looks to be a Hell of a team for 2007 and beyond.

The sad thing is, is that we will trade away these good players once they develope into stars for more double A prospects and such, or players that are not worth the value by any means. Hell imagine the money that could be flowing in right now if we still had Dye, Damon and Beltran in the OF. We could win the division because it is so weak of one, and more people would support a team that can actually compete.

Yeah, except you forgot to mention that in that article in the KC Star you mention, he said he had made a profit that particular year, but since taking over the team he had lost 27 million dollars. There are other inaccuracies in that post, but that's the big one that deletes the whole rant.

Glass is committed to spending $50 mil or so on payroll. We can lock up our young guys, now. By the time we need to give long-term contracts to the young guys, Sweeney will be gone. We'll give Alex Gordon Sweeney money (at least, he'll deserve it) and we'll also be able to give Butler his due. (Which might be a lot, considering he's got the best power bat of anyone in the Royals system right now. He's potentially an Ortiz-like HR threat.) A couple of years after that, we'll lock up Andrew Miller (the pitcher fron North Carolina who we'll pick 1st overall in June)

We can succeed with smart trading and proper development. There is no reason we can't be every bit as successful as the Indians. And we will, it's not too far off.

Rogers is a good pitcher. EtherTime isn't. Royals' pen holds 'em in the later innings, and the R's rally for two runs in the 7th for a 5-4 win.

But Bautista is pitching for us, and he's been nothing short of DOMINANT this spring.

This is because he finally listened to the coaches who told him "let a little off of your ridiculous fastball so you can control it." He did, and he's still unhittable. He may ascend to be our #1 starter by the all-star break.

The Royals hit a franchise low last season by losing 106 games. So they went wild this offseason and ended up bringing in two aging infielders (Mark Grudzielanek and Doug Mientkiewicz), an aging outfielder (Reggie Sanderstwiskz ... sorry, Reggie Sanders) and two castoff pitchers (Scott Elarton and Joe Mays). Impressed? Yeah, I know. Me, neither.

Welp, game one in the books. Some good things, some bad. I just hope we can flash some pitching and defense, we pitched well really, didn't give up any errors. Elarton wasn't dominating, but if kept his ERA under 4 all year everyone would take it. Way better than Lima Time last year. Kenny Rogers is a good pitcher, they got us today. Hopefully we can get to Bonderman on Wednesday.

Pretty much sums up the entire Royals roster. You could be talking about any player on this team with that statement. Any time you watch someone strike out or hit a pop fly on this team, their reaction is always the same...it looks like they don't give a damn. Aside from Jose Lima, who was the last player to show some freaking anger or frustration on this team? It's like they've all gotten used to sucking....Anyways, Kansas City Royals=Worst MLB franchise for the last 10+ years. Every other team fails to compare with our crapiness in the last 10 years, or atleast it seems that way..ohh well, I suppose there are more important things in life...right?

The sad thing is, is that we will trade away these good players once they develope into stars for more double A prospects and such, or players that are not worth the value by any means. Hell imagine the money that could be flowing in right now if we still had Dye, Damon and Beltran in the OF. We could win the division because it is so weak of one, and more people would support a team that can actually compete.

How many times does it have to be spelled out to you. Dye, Damon, and Beltran did not want to and would not have under any circumstances signed with the Royals. Allard had to trade them when he did. Granted he probably could have gotten more in the way of talent for them but he had to trade them or lose them to free agency. I wish Allard wouldn't have been so locked into having to get a C and a 3B for Carlos. I think if he would have tried to get the best possible prospects no matter what the position, then we would have been better off.
