The kids went through public school, as I did. I can't hide them from the world. We can only teach them right from wrong, and to make the right decision when presented with the choice. When they make the wrong choice, they learn that comes with consequences. IMO, It's all anyone really can do. FWIW, it seems to have worked well for the kids I've had a hand in raising. As far as morality as pertains to sex (the original topic here), I've only ever asked that 1)they wait for someone they really love, 2)they be RESPONSIBLE about it, and 3)Come to me or another trusted family member with concerns and questions. Again, it's how I was raised, and seems to have worked out well.

A daughter (especially of my own blood) might well change my perspective. Haven't "been there and done that", so I don't know. I certainly can understand your POV. What's the old adage? Something like "Daughters are God's revenge for making you a man"? (Yes, I'm fully aware of the irony of me quoting that. ;))

BTW, to reassure you, it was very TIC. I do love that movie, though.
