It's a watered down version but still. They passed something similar here too. Nobody pays much attention to it though.

Despite heavy opposition at the last meeting-35 people speaking against the ban and three Council members voting against the ban AND a dangerous Dog Task Force working for a year and recommmending AGAINST a ban the city goes against all logic and passes a ban anyway.

Mayor Tom Carlson "I want to communicate to people we're serious about the issue. We're not going to waver," he said. "Vicious dogs and vicious pit bulls will not be tolerated in this community. Period."

Within about six months — the time it'll take the city to set up new procedures — all pit bull owners will be required to register their dogs with the city, for a $50 annual fee. Registration only comes for fixed dogs with proof of rabies shots and microchip identification. Only certified show dogs are exempt from spaying and neutering requirements.
Meanwhile, all dogs with American Pit Bull Terrier, American Straffordshire Terrier or Straffordshire Bull Terrier traits are to be "confined" while at their homes — which must have warning signs posted at every entrance — and either caged or leashed and muzzled while in public.

Sounds like an OK compromise. Not an all out ban, but not ignoring the concerns of voters.

Look at what goofy little bitch created him. They should pillow case him in the bathroom and tell him that's for POS father.

This is the wording that will get the city a lawsuit.

It will come down to phenotype, what is & what isnt.

Really, that IS interesting. I don't think it would pass here in spite of all the media pushing it. At least it hasn't passed polls that have been put out there. I am hoping it will cost Spierer her next election. I think I will do a little door to door on the dog hater next time she is up. They finally passed a very watered down version similar to this one but not quite as bad as we can still breed with a certificate. I have no intention of fixing or registering my dog ever. We went from full on ban to this. Spierer still needed a police escort to and from the capital when it was voted on. I think she had some police protection for some time.

You sound like a PETA member. The pussification of man continues as Big Daddy weeps himself to sleep, because a dog in Missouri now has to be licensed and kept in a yard.

OK drama queen. It was just a public service announcement considering there are some BB members with dogs from Springfield here.

You're probably right. I know where this leads to though so that is my main concern. Well that and keeping my dog without having issues. With my temper I don't even want to think what I would do it they ever showed up at the door to take my dog. My family was already voicing concerns when the legislation was proposed here.

one thing that stood out to me was the showdog clause.
show a dog once and you dont have to get em fixed.

Cockers do the samething w/ interstate transport laws.

Where did that come from? You're so far out in left field you can't even see the ballpark. I am used to that from you though. What I don't understand is where shakes is coming from backing your BS. I guess it's the cat in him. :)

So, they don't have to be Pits... just share traits with pitts.... which traits?

remember the test that BD posted about spot the real APBT?

All those in that canine phenotype will be under the gun.

"With my temper I don't even want to think what I would do it they ever showed up at the door to take my dog. My family was already voicing concerns when the legislation was proposed here."

This shows how far your head is up your ass. I am in California and said earlier in the thread that they purposed a complete ban here. That would be like what happened in Denver where over 1,100 families are now missing their pet even though they never did anything wrong and either did their dog. That's a lot more than a license and a back yard. Frankly I am surprised they haven't had more issues killing families dogs like that. There are more than just a few people on this BB who would be seriously pissed off if someone came to take and kill their dog.

In all seriousness Jenson why do you even bother posting stupid shit to me? Go try an annoy somebody else. Your conversations never go anywhere with anyone. You just might be one of the most worthless poster on this entire BB. Your comparing my position to PETA was the funniest of all. PETA is for the eliminating all domestic ownership of animals. In other words, THEY ARE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE ISSUE ****ING DUMBASS.

As mo put it. http://www.pitbullsontheweb.com/petbull/findpit.html

An it's already happening even for other pure breeds.

I predicted this would pass several months ago. Any community that's Nazi enough to ban smoking is Nazi enough to ban whatever comes next on the OH-MY-GOD-THAT'S-BAD-FOR-YOU!!!! hit parade.

If you're terrified of a wisp of smoke, you'll also be terrified by the doggies. :shake:

Like i said this was about politics, Griggs pushed this through to get his stupid face on TV.And being a semi hot button issue he got what he wanted.
It was a done deal long before they voted on it.
