WR Jeff Webb - San Diego State (http://www.nfl.com/draft/profiles/2006/webb_jeff)

They sure dog his speed a lot for a guy who ran a 4.43.

ESPN just showed some tasty highlights, including a sick one handed grab.

They sure dog his speed a lot for a guy who ran a 4.43.I think he's sort of Moss like, runs full speed when he wants to.

I heard him called one of the best deep threats in the nation ... and then called a possession receiver in the same paragraph. I don't know what that means. They said he had good hands -- maybe that's where you are getting the possession receiver moniker.

Apparently he's more a long strider than quick and therefore doesn't play as fast as he times. He didn't look particularly quick on this highlights either.

Nice value pick.

Ht., Wt.: 6-2, 211
40 Time: 4.44

BIO: Second-team All-Conference selection who has steadily improved his production. Senior numbers included 92/1,109/10 after a junior campaign of 71/863/6.

POSITIVES: Nice-sized receiver who makes positive plays. Settles into the open spot of the field, shields opponents away with his frame and grabs the ball out of a crowd. Adjusts to the errant throw, displays a sense of timing and keeps the play in bounds after the reception. Flashes soft hands and the ability to snatch the ball from the air. Stays low out of breaks and consistently works to make himself an available target.

NEGATIVES: More of a long-strider who lacks a burst speed and the ability to beat defenders deep. Did a bit of double-catching as a senior.

ANALYSIS: Productive on the college level, Webb must improve the details of his position, yet has the ability to be a productive third receiver on an NFL level.

PROJECTION: Mid Third Round

Another dismal attempt at sarcasm falling like a lonely turd into the tall grass of misfortune, Mr. banyon. Actually, we've needed someone with size who can catch over the middle for years. This is a nice pick in late rounds IMO. Trent would love to have a guy like that, I'm certain.

Hmmm, I like this pick! Sounds like he has good hands. Something we needed the past few years. Drives have stalled due to dropped passes all the time.

Jeff Webb: Height: 6-2 1/8, Weight: 211. 40 time: 4.40

Strengths: Has good size and a solid frame…Athletic with great timed speed…shows tremendous body control and ball skills…has excellent hands and will make the highlight reel catch…can adjust to poorly thrown balls…strong and physical…a competitor with supreme confidence…was very productive throughout his career.

Weaknesses: Does not really play as fast as he times…does not do much after the catch…is not a great route runner…his overall toughness has been questioned…a disinterested blocker…might have some character concerns as he isn’t known as a hard worker and has a very high opinion of himself…has shoulder concerns.

Notes: Came through with a big senior campaign and notched 92 receptions for 1,109 yards and 10 touchdowns…similar to Brandon Lloyd and just needs to round out his game…has all the physical tools you look for and could end up being a steal. (mid-rounder)

Good value pick in the 6th round. We need more sure-handed WRs.

Sly Mo with better speed, we need WR help bad, this guy might turn out pretty good if not, it's a damn 6th rnd pick people.

I think he's sort of Moss like, runs full speed when he wants to.He does seem to sort of have that Moss-esque, "Eh, whatever. Guess I'll go catch this ball, or something," attitude about him.

That's what I keep wondering. Day 2 it seems like the Chiefs are grabbing some guys with very good measurables that usually push up their draft stock. I can't fathom how this guy slipped to Round 6 unless there is something wrong.

As far as the "explosiveness" out of cuts, I'm not buying it. While it's mostly true that you can't coach speed, you can coach quickness to a degree.
