I have recently been on a huge Red Hot Chili Peppers kick, and with their new double album coming out next week, I have been listening the hell out of these guys. Some of you may think they belong under the homosexual music thread but musically these guys are awesome, the dudes behind Anthony Keidis are all consummate players, and Anthony is not a bad frontman. Flea is just a sick bass player, and Chad Smith and John Frusciante are beyond awesome.

The Chili Peppers are a great band, and they seem to be making the transition out of their funk roots to more a a traditional pop/rock sound nicely. John Frusciante is also one of my favorite guitarist .

I've only heard their first single, and I thought it was dope. My buddy got the album, and said it was pretty "mellow" and "soft", but still real good.

and I think it is really really good, if not better. Usually listening to a 2 hour 2 CD my interest starts to wane but the Peppers do keep your interest level high throughout, lots of good funk going on, yes, they have mellowed but they are still lots of good funky songs on here. I recommend it.

It does look like it, but actually it's Iron Maiden's Adrian Smith playing the song Wicker Man.

I have been on a Big Chili Peppers kick myself, always been a huge fan, but really started to listen to their past stuff again when I got June’s Guitar World in the mail last week. Great article on John Frusciante, (like ChiefFripp said he is one of my favorite guitar players.) Also there is a nice interview with Flea...I love the new CD, kind of bummed that the tour ends in Nov...Closest stop to KC is Donkeyville
