I saw this trailer last week.
Looks hilarious.

This one is tee'd up so perfectly. Ferrel should knock it out of the park...

Just got back from seeing this. If you've seen the trailers, you've seen about 90% of the funniest parts. The rest is kinda forced. Still a funny movie, but not one of Ferrell's best IMO.

I thought the same thing. Not a bad movie, but not as funny as I thought it would be when I went in.

It wasn't bad, funny at times and just plain stupid other times.

To the very strict religous crowd, it might be a little raunchy for your taste.

Can't be any worse than the (unintentional?) comedy that was Days of Thunder. Or "Six Pack", for that matter.

Which Will Ferrell films do Will Ferrell fans consider to be his best?

Anchorman I would consider the best.

What do Will Ferrell fans consider "one of his best?"

I would have to throw Anchorman in there at or near the top.

That movie is a classic.

I am thinking this movie is going to be great. Just the way Will Ferrell is and how much material he has to work with in the NASCAR world.

Old School
Anchorman
The Elf

I like his characters in Zoolander and Wedding Crashers too, but they're side characters.

I saw it yesterday, wasn't thrilled. It had funny moments but seemed flat to me. Most of the best parts were seen in trailers and commercials.

Funniest part of the film might have been the Borat trailer before it, although Sacha Baron Cohen was funny as the french driver.

Then you'll probably want to consider NOT seeing this movie.

Based on the reviews and the comments on CP, I'll probably skip spending any money on this film. In fact, have yet to spend time in a theater watching Will Ferrell. That guy is just a bad actor. He can't even take streaking serious.

I would agree... though my wife rented "The Producers" last night. He plays a German who is a Nazi sympathiser and he was GREAT. None of the forced comedy which has been his trademark post Old School.

I dont know though if that was his doing or the fact that Mel Brooks had his hands all over the movie. :hmmm:

man do I agree....the Borat movie looks like Spinal Tap quality...so funny and akward I almost have to peek through my fingers to watch...that comment in the rodeo ring for example...

Talladega was funny for a few moments, but nowhere close to Anchorman...really seemed like a rehash of his comedy....

You have just effectively killed any desire I had to go watch Borat now.

What i find interesting about "Ricky Bobby", is that the people that it makes fun of the most(neckcar fans and southern people) were probably the ones who rushed out to see it this weekend?? I dont get it???

Would it be that they are being made fun of 'cause they ain't to bright?

Do you get it yet?

Are you a neckcar fan?

haha...no, im not a neckcar fan. Ive watched a few races but i cant get in to it at all. I guess there has always been a certain amount of popular redneck humour movies. Going all the way back to the 70's mostly with Burt Reynolds flicks and Eastwood with Every Which Way but Loose.

I loved the paralysis scene. "Don't you stick that knife in your leg."
