Herm was just interviewed on 810. He says 25 vets are also coming to the rookie camp this weekend. ARE WE READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?!

OK,
1) Priest is still not cleared to play football.
2) Huard is #2 on the depth chart because he's a veteran.
3) His practices will be short, intense.
4) Pollard will be a special teams monster.
5) Tamba Hali has the NFL and the White House on
his side in an effort to get his mom over here.
6) He'll be at a charity dinner this Saturday for
Eddie Kennison's cause. Morton's Steakhouse in
KC. Call for reservations.
7) He anticipates some players from the UDFA pool
to contribute to the teamthis fall.

Ty will don the red and gold. And Lamar will hoist the Lombardi.

Surely, you know what that portends. Get ready.

Shouldn't your location read "omnipresent" rather than "omniscient", O Lord?

Good I like the crop this year. I think Reid, Slaughter, Morris and Howard have a decent shot at making the roster.

Considering he was a 2nd round pick, Pollard better be more than just a special teams contributor.

I'm holding Pollard to the standards that a normal 2nd round pick would be held to, not some dumb standard that Peterson is probably going to hold him to which is a "just make sure you are better than Eddie Freeman"-type standard

One of the reasons the Pollard drafting confused me is that even if he comes in and plays well it might still not be enough to unseat our starting safeties, since they are all basically the same of type of player.

On the other hand a guy like Ko Simpson or Pat Watkins are more players in the free safety mold. They bring something new to the table, and it seems like one of them would have been a better fit along side one of our vets.

What standard is that? Does this standard you've set take common sense into consideration?

Why don't you list all the rookie second rounders from last year that made an impact beyond special teams. I mean, obviously if Peterson's way is so much more jacked up than the rest of the league, you'll find plenty of second round starters from last year's draft. Probably all of them except the Chiefs' pick.

I don't have a problem with expecting something from your 2nd round pick, but the reality is a lot of them don't provide much beyond special teams help in their rookie year. To sit here and jump all over a coach's comment about Pollard helping on STs, made before the guy has even stepped on the practice field, while talking about unreasonable expectations is just f*cking absurd.

Justin Miller got in because of injuries.

Considering that Eddie Freeman had 4 sacks and 17 tackles, while seeing a fairly decent amount of play time in his rookie season, I'd be tickled pink if he could contribute as much as he did.

Now if you'd said Junior Siavii; 9 tackles, 1 sack, I might have agreed, but Freeman did pretty well here that year and at the end of his rookie year, there wasn't a person on here who thought he was a bad pick. He fell apart after getting hurt the next year and we gave up on him, but the rookie year was fairly decent. Especially considering it took Ryan Sims, who we took in the first and gave up a 3rd rounder for, up until the 4th game of his 3rd season to match Freeman's sack total.
