If we could bring one Chief from the past - in his prime - to the 2006 team, who would it be, and why?

Saleamua.

It was a typo. I meant to say "anal." I'm really picky about my polls.

I forgot about the draft, and I went with Art Still, recognizing the value of a defensive end who can play the run and ferociously rush the QB.

Remembering Tamba Hali now, I might've changed my vote to Derrick Thomas. I think he could start over Kendrell Bell, and produce 15 to 20 sacks.

Saleamua.
Neil Smith and Dale Carter would be my second and third choices.

Aside from Still and Thomas, I'd love to bring back Albert Lewis. Shutdown CB who can block kicks like no other. Nothing turns a game as fast as a blocked FG attempt.

None of the above. Ed Podolak. Granted, the Chiefs need more help at spots other than White Guy Running Back. Nevertheless, I simply enjoy saying the word Podolak.

Larry Johnson would really appreciate that.

Old school: Buchanan or Taylor

Not so old school: DT or Cherry

How could you forget about my favorite old timer Curly Culp? :harumph:
We could use a good NT about now.

But! I didn't vote "other", so my Podolak endorsement isn't worth the paper that it's not printed on. Heh. I said Podolak again.

OK, I voted for Buck, who was (as we all know) monstrously huge in his time, but in this day and age, not so much. Assuming he'd have access to present day...errm...supplements, he's my guy.

I'm looking at our situtation and I know our D is going to be fine for the next few years.... so I went with Otis Taylor.

Bobby Bell. Led one of the greatest LB Corps' ever.

I picked Albert Lewis to fill our question mark at CB. He was the best Chiefs CB ever and, like Rain Man said, he also had a lot of success blocking kicks.

Deron Cherry (because we need a dominant safety), Neil Smith (for strong all-around DE play opposite Jared Allen) and Derrick Thomas (for his pass rush) are my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th choices.

Went with Dale Carter, but would have loved to have seen Derrick Thomas play just one more time.

I went with Sean LaChappelle.

Derrick was just too dominating to pick anyone else over him, although I'm tempted to say Len Dawson for nostalgia's sake.

I'm surprised Nick Lowery isn't on the list, though. I'd love to see his open-face-helmeted self on the field again.

Yeah, but Lin Eliot was much better at throwing the big games.

Derrick Thomas, in his current condition, could get more sacks than Hicks.

Albert Lewis...that would fill the position of need, and eliminate Ty Law speculation threads on CP!

Buck Buchanan.

Bill Maas. We need the D-Line help, and all the other good ones like Sean LaChappelle have already been mentioned. ;)

Derrick Thomas. He'd make the secondary better because of his pass rush and get in the qbs head throughout the game. Nobody on the Chiefs D now has the playmaking ability even close as to what DT had. I think he would make DJ and Mitchell very good to great players as well
