The supposed crown jewel of of the Indy circuit and in 2006 it's still in SD?
Geez, at least it's in color.

Indy racing died when they split into 2 leagues. They still haven't recovered. :banghead:

How about ol' Marco Andretti? I hope he can keep it up...who knows, if he can do that at 19 years old, he might be able to be as good as his grandpappy someday!

What really amazes me is that they're showing this in SD knowing Fox has NASCAR in HD tonight in Prime Time.
Talk about brand devaluation.

Danika in 5th.
Guess the boys are gonna complain that she shaved her cooter, giving her an unfair aerodynamic advantage.

ITs not her fault she's 50 pounds lighter than any other driver. It's the leagues for not having a policy where they equal out the weight in the cars.

It's not a race, unless you have to make a right turn. Even one right turn, and it's a race...

And you still didn't answer me how NASCAR is better than Indy.

If you use that logic, the Giants are a better team than the Chiefs cause more people watch them. That doesn't seem to hold up.

And if that was the case, F1 whoops the crap out of NASCAR globally. The only reason it doesn't here is because Americans want to be different.

You have to turn right out of the pits.

I wouldn't consider that a turn as much as it's just getting back out on the track. The pit lane is so long there's no turn, it's more of just easing back out onto the track.

Keep telling yourself that, dude. If it was popular enough, It would be global. Just like American Football. It's just not that popular of a sport unless your American. Sure, they have the NFLE but that's all the one billion people in Europe will support. They just don't like it like they do soccer.

And really, why isn't Nascar global? Is it because on just about every other racing circiut GM/Ford/Chrystler products haven't been able to control them, and have been basically unable to compete?

I'll be excited to see how Toyota mixes up NASCAR next year. It'll be funny to see all these rednecks watching, cursin the "damn furiners" for winning their precious Daytona or whatever race they win (which they'll win at least one).

I wonder if before the race they fill out whether or not they want Skim, 1%, 2% or Whole...

Waltrip and Jarrett are the only drivers for toyota right now... and maybe Petty.... if thats all they can get, they will be terrible

Maybe they will bring over Danica, 'cause it would be even more funny to have a female win in a Toyo.

I think Danica should stick to Indy. Her weight advantage is big, and in NASCAR that would be kinda...gone.

It's not uncommon for a 2nd year person to not have won a race yet. It takes a while, especially when you're racing a vehicle that doesn't have as many regulations on it like NASCAR does. And besides, I never said she was a great racer, I just said she'd be better at that than anything else.

Jeez...

8th. The more impressive feat was Marco Andretti (19 yo grandson of Mario) coming in second, and only losing by less than a tenth of a second.

Yeah, she got caught in the pit late with a yellow flag coming right afterwards, was in 6th place going in and I believe down a lap after exiting.
