I just thought I'd make a thread on the horrible field at Arrowhead Stadium. Would you want a new field, perhaps switch to the new field turf? I understand many here think that football should be played strictly on grass, which is fine, what what would the costs be of re-sodding the whole field as opposed to getting the field turf? Something needs to be done about this field as opposed to just spray painting it to make it look green. I heard New England didnt want us to spray the field because it got everywhere (whaaaa!). What are your thoughts on this issue? Personally I wouldnt mind the field turf, but it re-sodding the whole field was cheaper, I would go with that first being that it is natural grass.

I remember Carl saying that the type of grass they use doesnt grow well in the midwest...

Look at this pathetic excuse for a football field:

So you have no way of knowing how it will look this fall.

I think the field turf thing would work in KC if the "Wiz" didn't play at Arrowhead. I think the MLS rules stipulate that the fields must be grass.

I thought the field looked pretty good at mini camp.

The field always looks good until the soccer team chews it up.

Field turf is for fairies, I’ll take an ugly field any day as long as it dirt, grass, snow and ice the way God intended the game to be played.

The best games are those where you can’t see the numbers anymore because of all the mud and grass stains.

I think that's why the Wizards are looking for another place to play because Hunt & Peterson have plans to put field turf in at Arrowhead.

Wouldn't Sprint be too small for the field?

Our local HS has field turf and it is amazing. I think I would rather play on it. The footing is better, when it gets cold it does not freeze solid and the blades are just like grass to fall on. Absolutely amazing stuff and beautiful.

They had already played a few games on it...

Might have to do with it being springtime instead of November... :spock:

I've heard a lot of players from teams that use field turf say its the best. It definately looks a lot better than our grass (or lack thereof) does in December every year.

Hell Arrowhead's field looked absolutely awful when I was there last October. I have never seen it so bad, sure never looked like that when we had the elder Toma in charge.
