Does anyone have any insight into who we can afford to cut or re-sign? Can we afford to take the cap-hits we'd receive by cutting Glock and Dan Williams now that they have (supposedly) played another year off of their contracts? How about Lew Bush? What if Hasty retires (which I assume he will as we are still not a contender). Does that result in a cap-hit? Does next year's projected cap figure include a contract for Shields or Szott (presumably not)?

So many questions.........thanks.

All I know is that extending the contracts of guys like Grbac, McGlockton, & Williams annually to avoid huge cap hits only puts off the inevitable. Just ask some 49er fans. KC is going to have at least one or two AWFUL years, either sooner or later. Might as well get it over with and cut all the dead, expensive weight as soon as this season is over, regardless of the cap hit.

At least in SF they were extending the likes of Young & Rice AFTER winning multiple championships.
